In a nutshell, apparently, they were under the impression that Nvidia were supposed to fix it, while Nvidia said they're waiting on the devs. Someone somewhere failed at comms, but the community director asked for proof of what Nvidia rep said to me, then said he'd send some emails and figure it out.
A few days later I got a message that a patch will come out to fix it. And it did get fixed!
That was the most random way to fix a game I've ever pulled, completely by accident 👀
And we still need to keep in mind the crashes in photomode.
