Ingame rarity assignments are useless and misleading. For example, Beetle is an epic car but it can be bought from the autowhow for 20 CR and Chevrolet zr2 is considered common but it's actually a "hard to find" car, in auctions it goes for 10 mil I think.

go to autoshow, browse all cars, try to buy
if you can't, its rare

So there is no real way to know just how valuable and or rare a car is thats won off a wheel spin for example. As thief said i guess the only way would be to go back and forth from "my cars" to the catalog and if its not in the catalog then its a rare,.,,

Well another way might be just trying to sell the car via auction. You'd get the "real-life" value of the car (adjusted by supply/demand), though in some cases some rare cars go for as little as a few hundred thousand just because there's not enough volume for the auction house algorithm to adjust the max price. So it's also not a very good or fast way to check the value of a car.

so the game gives you a "auto" price when you go to list? Obviously new to the game havent tried to sell a car yet

yeah it automatically assigns a max price based on current auction house trends. If you're a rank20 designer/painter you can set the price to the max (20M), otherwise you cannot go over the set price.

Full list of cars that cannot be obtained outside events
Their actual rarity depends on several factors
1. When it was available for the last time? If it was recently, there should still be reasonable plenty of them floating around.
2. Is car good? If it's good, everyone want it. If it's just a curiosity item, only collectors want it.
3. Is car well known? Popular cars are coveted even if they're not very good.

Unless you are a legendary player, you cant rely on auction guideline to know the overall value of a car.

What you can do though is to search that car in the auction house and see the different bids.

But as others said, for general rule, a car that cant be bought with CR, its rare. But that doesnt mean its a better car than others adquired with CR.
