We’re aware that some PC players running an NVIDIA GPU are experiencing unexpected crashing in the Steam version of Forza Horizon 4. We recommend downloading and installing the studio driver or driver version 522.25 through NVIDIA’s website:

Latest driver version is 527.56 (as of this writing), and people report on the previous page of this thread that they're still having issues.

well ive been using 517.48 for more than 2 months i think , and its working flawlessly but the thing is i want the new drivers update because Ruyjinx and RPCS3 are improving on performance on the latest drivers but i cant afford not playing forza 4 every once in a while

Update: Installed 527.56 myself. Still freezing after about twenty minutes.

Before installing drivers, I suggest reading the release notes:

As with every released driver, version 527.56 WHQL of the Release 525 driver has open
issues and enhancement requests associated with it. This section includes lists of issues
that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not
have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others may have
workaround solutions.

No, it was causing issues before that. They were only made aware of the issue just before 527.56 was released. This was not an issue on the Microsoft Store version, they weren't made aware that the Steam version was having this issue until people started posting links HERE to SPECIFICALLY report the problem to Nvidia. This was maybe like a week before 527.56 was released.

I‘m using 527.56 studio driver version and the crash problem has not been resolved. I tried rolling back to version 522.25 and it did work fine, but I'm playing Forza Horizon 5 at the same time and the older version will cause the Horizon 5 in-game graphics to render poorly. I'm still waiting for a patch for this problem and thank you Microsoft and NVIDIA for such a bloody fantastic new-year gift— a mysterious bug.

I successfully received my refund due to this issue. Suggest y'all do the same and rebuy the game when the issue's fixed.
