Is it worth it for singleplayer?
I'm thinking about buying Ultimate, but I don't really care about multi, is it worth buying if I want to play singleplayer only?

I'm enjoying it for single player. Just have to get used to the controls.

Yes, but it depends on what you are looking for. There is almost no traditional progression system in place where you would need to win a podium place to continue or getting new cars (except weekly challenges). AI opponents are fine for an arcade racer.
Expansions in the Ultimate edition are good. Lego is a bit grindy (and not always fun) to unlock everything.

Hm, that's what I was looking for to be honest, that traditional progression

Think of the game as being a big sandbox, where the gist of the progression is choosing which cars you want to use for completing all the events.

You can't get a lot of achievements playing only solo, but I think that the best gameplay in this is while solo.

Yeah well, it's just a little different in Horizon. You unlock new races and cars very quick in this game - takes maybe 10 to 40 hours and during this time you learn the tracks and what cars/tunes feel good to drive. After that it's all about seasonal challenges, or just driving around in the open world. Every season lasts four weeks and it's like tasks/objectives in a live service game and not exactly a progression system, but somewhat close and I liked it quite a bit.
