I definitely have some good memories of FH4, which is partly why I have kept 5.5 GB of in-game photos (8500 images), and started similar galleries for FH5.
Now, I could chase riding-the-dragon and buy a whole new Forza5, with the hope I can drive around again, just like I did in Forza4 a mere month (or 2) ago... for only 40 moar dollarz? Why wouldn't I?
IF Forza4 becomes playable again, I'll play it and maybe, one day, play Forza5... but I ain't paying for the privilege, having just paid to play a game from these guys, for a month, just long enough to like it.
But as things stand, I ain't.
Wreckfest is great! cheepr! funner! more working-er anyway.
FH4 has better map and awesome seasons and a great selection of cars. I like in special the rally cars and tracks it has. Cross Country races are a random clusterf*** full of blind jumps and crap on the road to flip your car. Online gameplay is horrid and buggy. UI is mildly confusing but once you get hang of it, its really neat.
FH5 has much better sounds and driving physics . RWD is viable and incredibly fun. Online play is 1000 times better. The map is incredibly boring and flat , and seasons are all the same. There are no Alpha Romeo or Lancia cars, rally tracks are boring. Cross Country on another side is much better. The UI is really confusing and colours ugly as possible.
Take your pick. If you are happy with FH4 , FH5 feels like a different flavour of the same thing.
bland, there is desert, jungle, city....so i far pref 5 now, but 4 still a good game yes.
- Less nerfs to cars. The 599xx evo had a major top speed nerf and pretty much most cars that did about 280 - 290+ mph. They are now doing 275 mph or less.
- The Vulcan. I don't give-a-care about the AMR Pro, it's a horrible car with horrible top speed, no Vulcan in Forza Horizon 5 has severely hurt my interest in playing the game.
- It's boring. Subjective I know, but to me Forza Horizon 5 is boring. They just give you everything right off the bat. Unlock a Festival, you get all the tracks at once; there's is no working your way up.
- Boring map. Also subjective, but that's my opinion on Forza Horizon 5's map.
- Talking protagonist. It just, isn't my cup-of-tea and completely ruins immersion imo.
- Boring AI. Either the AI is no challenge at all up to highly skilled or the AI is ridiculously overpowered at expert and beyond. The AI has tire grip that it shouldn't have - lowered vehicle weight that it shouldn't have - motor swaps that it shouldn't have - top speeds for vehicles that it shouldn't have. Basically, it doesn't even feel like a race. This is the one that completely destroyed my interest in playing Forza Horizon 5 and yea sure, there's plenty of people that say that the AI don't cheat - well I don't believe that. I mean, Horizon 4's AI was bad, but Horizon 5's takes the cake.
- No businesses. Not that this matters since the game practically throws money our way.
- Horrible traffic. The traffic practically spawns just for you to run into it. Also, the AI is reading your driving lines so it accurately predicts where you will be when it sends a car your way. Also, traffic doesn't even attempt to dodge. It's so bad in Horizon 5 that I don't even drive in freeroam anymore.
- Rehashing Hot Wheels. It's not Forza Horizon 3; it will never be on the level of Forza Horizon 3. This one is mostly a gripe, it didn't affect me playing Horizon 5.
So there you have it, my reasons.
I genuinely just do not enjoy Forza Horizon 5. At the basics, I'm not enjoying driving in freeroam and I'm not enjoying racing the AI at all, so where does that leave me? PVP? Meh, not my bag. Story? it's boring. Hitting the exit button is about what I did.
Really, the only times that I even play the game now are when my friend hops on, which is twice a week. Outside of that, I never go into Forza Horizon 5 and really feel that the game was a waste of my money.
Sorry to be negative about this, but I'm just not interested in Forza Horizon 5.
you need an eyedoctor if you think seasons are all the same, and th emap certainly is not

I do not play FH5 but a friend showed me how they name the seasons there, and I am baffled by it coming from a tropical country like Mexico myself. FH5 names their seasons spring summer autumn winter..... such stupidity, nobody in tropical countries calls their seasons that way. A more accurate name would be Dry and Rain seasons, which is what we all use in said climates....
So yeah you are mistaken on the seasons side. It's all the same just one with too much rain and one with huge lack of (no significant environment change at all compared to autumn and winter that is not present in tropical countries).
As for the map is bland or not that is actual preferences. As Zero McDol said that part is opinion, one I cannot say yet since I have not played FH5 (or even planning to considering the Forza dev's performance nowadays)
Aside from the sandstorm which only affects visibility once you pass the airstrip (it never reaches the Horizon Mexico site so only half the map experiences it) and the heavy rain which also only affects half the map, the "seasons" aren't that drastically different.
Hot take, no snow, no four seasons. Yeah, I'm absolutely throwing shade at all the equatorial regions of the world that have never seen snow in their life outside of the tops of mountains (which doesn't count) and TV and media. You don't have seasons, just variations of the same ♥♥♥♥, monsoons/typhoons/hurricanes or whatever else don't mean ♥♥♥♥. True Northern Hemisphere gang. Australia gets my respect because they're the complete opposite of us but they still get snow in some regions I've heard...just at the opposite time of Canada.
Yeah man everyone in Tropical country would agree with you. That's why many of us yearn to experience winter/snow at least once in our lives. pizza7's comment does not represent anyone from tropical countries, we all know we lack the variety of the 4 seasons lol
One day dude, don't give up on that dream lol. If possible I'd recommend a full year in Canada. The seasonal changes you see in FH4 aren't far off (depends on where you live in Canada of course, where I live, its fairly similar...just a little less rain lol), Spring you get the beautiful scenery, with vibrant colours and a mix of rain. Autumn/Fall when all the leaves fall off and it starts to get cold, the colour of the scenery is yellow, gold, orange, etc. Winter is as you'd expect though much more brutal in Canada and some of the Northern states of the US that border with us, especially a few days ago, a lot of Canada and the US got hit with a "once in a decade" snow storm that swept across the nation(s), my part was hit by wasn't nearly as bad and went away pretty quickly (surprisingly we're above 0 degrees Celsius in winter but it's probably going to snow like tomorrow though) while other parts of Canada and the US are still getting hammered really hard (34 people died in Buffalo, NY from this). Summer is similar to Spring, vibrant colours, but much hotter, similar chance of rain and thunderstorms if you're lucky, if not, just hot and miserable (not as hot and definitely not as humid as some places in the world luckily).
The best (or worst) part, depending on where you live, sometimes you get surprise snow storms (or rain/thunderstorms with hail mixed in), they don't happen THAT randomly or often but sometimes they can happen. I remember probably 15+ years ago, we were getting snow in May when all of the snow had already melted. Pretty sure that also happened like, last year as well lol. Normally May for us is the end of Spring and beginning of Summer, but sometimes mother nature decides to mess with us. I know about a month or two ago it started raining...even though we already have our regularly scheduled snow.
I should stop, now I'm just rubbing it in lol.
On an actual note regarding FH5 weather. I mentioned the sandstorm and heavy rain, the most disappointing part is the fact that it only affects half the map. Like I said, the very first Horizon Site you start on, you can SEE the huge sandstorm forming and engulfing that section of the map, but it never actually reaches the site. There is a nice airstrip for drag races next to it, you have to drive like half way across the airstrip before you get affected by the sandstorm and the hilarious thing is, once you pass this "half-way" mark, it just happens, it doesn't like slowly build up, your visibility gets worse as you drive deeper into it, no, it just immediately transitions like a bad cutscene, one second everything is clear, you can see everything, the moment you pass this point its like you just teleported into the centre of it, but you back up a bit, all clear again. The airstrip faces the Western parts of the map, so if you're on the Eastern half of the map, I'm pretty sure nothing happens, just a fairly calm day. On the other hand, during rain season, a very heavy typhoon-like rainstorm is on the Eastern parts of the map, the rest of the map just gets regular rain. I know not every road on FH4 gets heavy snow buildup (usually the more "rural" areas) but at least the entire map is covered in snow and its cold and miserable.
Don't worry, I have experienced the 4 seasons for a bit in Germany in the past, was quite lovely for me. Although I have experienced snow, I did know that some areas are even colder. But your stories does shed a different light on how bad it can be, quite surprised myself..
My tropical area thankfully does not get hit with typhoons much (or at all tbh), so it's just the textbook dry and wet seasons here with perhaps a slight heavy storm rarely (but not even close to be considered a typhoon)

Although those are mentioned these are also named in Forza Horizon 5:
- Dry
- Wet
- Hot
- Storm
Mainly, the autumn, winter, spring, summer is for reference and not so much to call the tropical seasons by those names. The above is what their actually called in-game.
