Is Intel Iris Xe Max graphics good for gaming? No. You're looking at GT1030 levels of performance which is good enough for light 1080p gaming but inadequate for anything else.
Your crashing issues may be due another factor in your system.
Iris Xe is able to run games like Satisfactory, The Crew 2 and Scrap Mechanic quite well, in fact gameplay is totally acceptable. The studio who made Forza 4 is quite capable of making the fix and they would receive a lot of new players as a result. I believe that it is just a compatibility issue and nothing more. You can look it up on Youtube to see how Forza 4 runs on Iris Xe, and the immediate comment would be that the GPU is hopeless. Not so. The game just hasn't been tweaked to run on Iris Xe. If it was, the game would run descently. It's up to the developer.
it would freeze and then crash in about 5-10 minutes after game loads.
but it could run the benchmark mode with no issues without crashing.
then i set the gear-changing from auto to manual with clutch (in which you need to use keyboard buttons more) and made it even worse.
so i realized that the less you touch the keyboard the more you will get to play before is freezes.
then i tried to play it with my controller (dualshock 4) and now i can play it with no issues and stably for hours.
i hope this helps.
Works fine on a 1050ti as well.
