This for beginners or 5?
I'm very new to driving games and the Forza series, and just wondering which would be the best entry for someone who's never played much driving games outside of Mario Kart lol

Thanks for the help!

Both can adjusted for difficulty, although the points and money increase with the sliders set harder.

^This.

There's many options to make the game as easy or difficult as you want. And its not just for AI racers either. You can enable/disable options to make driving more suited for you.

Thanks for the input :)

I went with 4 because after checking out both maps, I find the UK more diverse looking and seasons look better despite 5's map being larger. This is just my opinion, of course, and I'll probably pick up 5 when it goes on sale anyway.

Thanks again!

Same here. Hopefully it's merely a matter of waiting for a Christmas sale, which is exactly what I did for FH4 last year. :steamhappy:
Forza Horizons 4 and 5 have driving models and feeling that are quite different. I had to re-learn a bit of it when I switched to 5. AI in 5 is very unforgiving, and requires sometimes to tailor your tunes to the tracks in the hardest difficulties, and they cheat really hardcore when starting a race. In 4 you can destroy Unbeatable Drivatars with a decent tune.

Both are fun and great games, but I would recommend to start with 4 if you can get it with a good price. Seasons and map are nice and varied. The AI is much less frustrating too. You will get the hang of the Season championships and and the game mechanics. 5 has a bit more of polishing, but the car selection is still lacking IMO (no Lancia, no Alpha Romeo !), unless if you are really itching to drive eletric cars.

If you are into online racing or playground events, you are better off with 5, as the multiplayer is 1000x more stable than 4.

I only played a few driving cars games such as V-Rally 1 and 2 and Sony Gran-turismo (on PS2 and PS3) ... I think Forza Horizon 4 is much better than the fifth opus for these points : if you want to collect and drive nearly 750 differents cars, you can ... the game is finished to develop all fonctionalities : game is without bugs I think ... the price is very low : you can purchase the game with all dlc for a very affordable price during sales offers lots of support made : car skins and a huge choice of specific quality settings from other players ... Forza horizon 5 is still too expensive

of course you can adjust the game to your level: not only at the level of the settings (powered braking or not, power steering or not, skid or traction control, stability management or not): at the beginning you start with the maximum steering assistance but on your own you will deactivate these more and more because to make 3 stars in the drift zones, whatever the car or its configuration, you will undoubtedly be obliged

FH5 cars are generally a bit more grippy and slightly more pleasant to drive but like someone mentioned above, the AI is less forgiving for beginners. In that sense, FH4 might be more enjoyable for a total newcomer. Gameplay wise, there is actually very little difference since 5 is built on everything 4 has, so either will be just as fun. I reckon buying either is okay actually.

Just a quick tip, disable TCR and STM assists even if you're just starting out and get used to it. STM is useless and just slows down your turning. Most tunes available are AWD swaps from RWD and they turn pretty well unless you have TCR enabled, then you are left wondering why they are understeering, because TCR is cutting the power to your rear to prevent wheelspin. So neither are actually helping you even though they are 'assists', although TCR can be helpful during story missions where you can only drive stock untuned cars, but generally the only assist you will want is ABS turned on.
