Yeah sometimes you have to look around first to see if your target is in front of you, or something is blocking the road. Kinda crazy, reminds me of Trackmania

Irony with High Stakes is I'd be more inclined to compete if they just told the prizes.

That's just the generic sequence after you completed the week's unique list and selected "Restart", not worth attempting imo.

So how do I get back to the previous list? I chickened out before doing the seventh step.

You have to select "No" on restarting, then let the game save and quit so the list refreshes to before the completed set. If you already selected restart, it changes to the generic permanently... you have to wait till the next season/week list unfortunately

That doesn't sound right to me. But of course it's probably only one in a long list of things that the devs could have been done differently.

Start a standard super 7, wait one hour, start a high stakes super 7.
