use them on cars you use, as someone mentioned. if you only use it for 2 minutes, dont use them.
You are not forced to new cars. Other than maybe very early in the game. So don't worry about that.
How are you being forced to change a car? Sounds like the way you personally play the game is affecting how you perceive the usefulness of Skill Points.
I use every single car I have. And I use them a lot. Either to do custom races with them or just driving them around.
At the end of the day, Skill points are... pointless. The majority only make you gain more XP. And that only means leveling up, which in the game, levels mean absolutely nothing.
You're thinking this too much. just use them. It takes like two laps at the highway to get at least 10 to 15 skill points back. Do it with a really fast car, going the wrong way, with a skill song playing and you might even get more than that. It takes just a few minutes.
If you don't use SP, you wont miss it much, unless you need that double collision skill (get that). I never benefit from most of the buffs.
But if I DO spend the points, I get something. Even if I don't notice it. So for cars you use, spend all the points, if you have them. You most likely will quit with tons of points, unspent.
But if yo want to get picky, there are points for some cars that you really want. And you SHOULD get them, as they change your life. Most wont. So you can ignore it. But the double collision one, is nice.
