How? By disabling the mic itself? There is no other way because Steam version is not a UWP app. So you need to disable the hardware completely.

Sorry but players shouldn't have to put up with this for 1 game that doesn't have an option to disable voice chat in 2021 and on top thinks it's better to enable voice for all random players in an online team

That is an annoying workaround for players, not a solution. Solution is for the developers to add proper settings to their game
