PS: Make sure traction control is Off.
Tho I ain't playing FH4, I played FH3 and the Charger a real good car for drifting of made some minor changes.
The Formula Drift Viper is extremely powerful and cheap/DLC. In general, the Formula drift cars are decent. If you have the DLC you already have some of them. I still recommend upgrading them to the maximum and put them on AWD instead of RWD.
I've had decent results with a fully upgraded AWD Mazda RX-7, Nissan 240SX SE, Subaru BRZ. If you have a little more money, the Formula Drift Ferrari is really decent, propably my favorite.
You may want to mess about with the tuning setups though or just download some good ones. Still might take a while to get used to it and manual gears make it a bit easier.
Some of my setups if you wanna try:
Formula Drift #13 Ford Mustang: 490 952 991
Formula Drift #43 dodge viper SRT10: 735 402 972
Formula Drift #117 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano: 240 216 809
Subaru BRZ: 438 369 499
Mazda RX-7: 343 420 310
Hoonigan RX-7 Twerkstallion: 292 459 910
Nissan 240SX SE: 108 356 025
I've managed to test all of those in a couple of street drift zones, managed to get 3 stars in both directions with all of them. The viper and ferrari are by far the easiest to score points with though.
if you need to do setups yourself, set the differential of an AWD car to 70% rear or higher and work from there.
Edit: Got a new PB in the zone near the festival upon trying again:

The Ferrari is nice
BMW Isetta
Code: 124 246 617
Abarth 595 Esseesse
Code: 250 730 587
Keep in mind that even though I've just uploaded them, these are old tunes from 2019 and are far from being perfect, but they will get the job done
The Formual Drift #98 BMW 325I is a fantastic little car right out of the box, as well as the Formula Drift #118 240 SX. Fairly sure they're pre-tuned, but I've never checked to see.
If you wanted to stick with automatic, you would have to specifically tune your transmission to keep yourself in a certain gear by shortening other gears before it and extending the gear you want to be in.
Well i managed to do all 3-star drift zones with the car mentioned above with auto gear + keyboard. By "get it stuck to 2nd gear" i meant you have to pay attention not to fall down to 1st gear or exceed the 2nd and if i remember correctly you kinda have to maintain a speed of 80-90 km/h.
The yellow version with the blue rims. #118

I have it setup as a S2 - 918 / AWD. I typically hold gas and tap the handbrake to get the best/longest drifts. It's a beast, try it
