Forza Horizon 4
Cars for doing drift zones
Of the PR stunts, the only type that I haven't completed is Drift Zones. I admittedly have a problem in that I can't drift when I *want* to - only "accidentally" when doing high speed turns during races or skill point acrobatics. If anyone have a list of good cars for tackling drift zones with corresponding tunes, that would be appreciated. Note that I have no desire to compete in leaderboards - I simply want to do just enough to 3-star the drift zones.

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was pretty good in FH3 so you could try that.
Personally i used the NIssan 240SX Formula Drift Edition car and worked perfectly fine. Also try to get it "stuck" to the 2nd gear which is ideal for almost all drift zones.

PS: Make sure traction control is Off.

I've been playing with almost all assists off, including no traction control. Though I do play all the time with automatic transmission, which I hear is bad for drifting.
I play with a keyboard xD
Tho I ain't playing FH4, I played FH3 and the Charger a real good car for drifting of made some minor changes.
What you might wanna try out are AWD cars, given they got enough torgue. Don't install a rollcage and choose sports tires, not race tires. Tire width will also affect drift handling, but that's really up to your preference and depends on the car.

The Formula Drift Viper is extremely powerful and cheap/DLC. In general, the Formula drift cars are decent. If you have the DLC you already have some of them. I still recommend upgrading them to the maximum and put them on AWD instead of RWD.

I've had decent results with a fully upgraded AWD Mazda RX-7, Nissan 240SX SE, Subaru BRZ. If you have a little more money, the Formula Drift Ferrari is really decent, propably my favorite.

You may want to mess about with the tuning setups though or just download some good ones. Still might take a while to get used to it and manual gears make it a bit easier.

Some of my setups if you wanna try:

Formula Drift #13 Ford Mustang: 490 952 991
Formula Drift #43 dodge viper SRT10: 735 402 972
Formula Drift #117 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano: 240 216 809
Subaru BRZ: 438 369 499
Mazda RX-7: 343 420 310
Hoonigan RX-7 Twerkstallion: 292 459 910
Nissan 240SX SE: 108 356 025

I've managed to test all of those in a couple of street drift zones, managed to get 3 stars in both directions with all of them. The viper and ferrari are by far the easiest to score points with though.

if you need to do setups yourself, set the differential of an AWD car to 70% rear or higher and work from there.

Edit: Got a new PB in the zone near the festival upon trying again:

The Ferrari is nice

I personally used the BMW Isetta and the Abarth 595 Esseesse back in the day, they are extremely easy cars to use in drift zones

BMW Isetta
Code: 124 246 617

Abarth 595 Esseesse
Code: 250 730 587

Keep in mind that even though I've just uploaded them, these are old tunes from 2019 and are far from being perfect, but they will get the job done

Can't confirm if it's bad or not, but I'd assume as much. At least with the cars I usually use I'm sliding around the corners in no lower than 4th gear. Most if not all of the cars I use also have some variation of a V8 engine and I'm just using the raw torque provided to pull me through.

The Formual Drift #98 BMW 325I is a fantastic little car right out of the box, as well as the Formula Drift #118 240 SX. Fairly sure they're pre-tuned, but I've never checked to see.

For RWD cars, auto transmission is certainly horrible. Haven't tried it on AWD cars tbh. Most cars are 3rd or 4th gear for me as well though.

Rimac is awesome for automatic drifting, but i generally drift when I want. Controller is best, compared to keyboard.

I just went to try it out, and what BnN says would work, but when I go to tap the handbrake to get that extra slide angle, the game takes that as a cue to shift down so for the rest of the drift zone I'm banging off the rev limiter and losing speed.

If you wanted to stick with automatic, you would have to specifically tune your transmission to keep yourself in a certain gear by shortening other gears before it and extending the gear you want to be in.

Well i managed to do all 3-star drift zones with the car mentioned above with auto gear + keyboard. By "get it stuck to 2nd gear" i meant you have to pay attention not to fall down to 1st gear or exceed the 2nd and if i remember correctly you kinda have to maintain a speed of 80-90 km/h.

Which 240SX did you use? There seems to be three.

I use a Keyboard and I love the 1945 Willys MB Jeep for drifting. It's a beast on both dirt and road. Always my goto

I have it setup as a S2 - 918 / AWD. I typically hold gas and tap the handbrake to get the best/longest drifts. It's a beast, try it
