On top of that there are plenty of cars that aren't readily available, they're either wheelspin/seasonal gifts/etc but those can be found on the auction house... though often for a hefty premium. Had to grind for a bit to get the Hoonigan RS200 back, because I was an arsehat that re-installed the game a while ago to check performance on my new rig and didn't bother with syncing my save just to run a quick benchmark (only to find out I still hate the bloody thing, and with S2 dirt removed from online it was even more useless other than for rivals leaderboards ;3)

So if I buy the Car Pass, the lego DLC and Forture Island I should be able to get every car in the game correct?
There are roughly 3 types of cars
1) Normal. Can be bought from the car show at any time
2) Rare. Can be won via Wheelspins. Getting a specific car here is almost impossible. But plenty of players win cars here that they don't want or already have and thus sell at the auction house
3) Exclusive. Can be won during seasonal events or bought (during one week) in the forzaton shop. Depending how often a car was already there, these can be extremly hard to get.
3a) Some exclusive cars are rewards for static events. Like the hoonigan Porsche, the Mercedes 6x6, the eliminator cougar or the Capri FE. Most of these are almost impossible to buy at the auction house, cause they are hard to get and are one per player only.
P.S. Nowadays we have the backstage passes, that can get you exclusive cars more easily
* The one exception is the McLaren P1 'Owen's Edition'. This one can't be obtained. Doing so via cheats will get you permabanned immediatly.
Well, if we go back that far, I‘d say Forza Motorsport 4 easily beats older GT games even in terms of AI. And Polyphony are so jealous about the success of FH 4, they want to launch their own open world racing game now.
If Polyphony actually follow through with it we'll know we'll have at least one open world racer taking place in Japan.
Some exceptions will be some pre order cars you will get just by playing some events, or by playing the game once you have enough played hours.
BUT. That shouldnt worry you because without DLC cars and others, you already have a roster of more than 500+ cars you can just get by playing the game. And you dont need ANY dlc car or special car to succeed.
WRONG.
MANY of those cars can be adquired through events, expansions, or gifts by playing in a long term.
Of course, cars belonging to Fortune Island or Lego, you need to buy the proper expansion, and even then, most of those cars can even be adquired as i said by other means as well (except the ones belonging to the Lego expansion, of course but those are completely forgettable).
I think the very only cars you cant adquire by any mean but buying the proper DLC are the hotwheel cars (the new ones) and the James Bond ones.
