Fast travel?

Can you actually fast travel for free this time around or you are stuck in this exhausting trend of modern racing games in which you spend far more time driving around from event to event than actually racing? I just wanna pick the next race... race.. then pick the next one and so on. I really can't with this open world driving around for hours stuff anymore.

To unlock fast travel you need to buy Fairlawn manor, to lower the cost you collect the fast travel boards around the map,each one lowers the cost by 200.

You have to smash all the fast travel boards to fast travel for free. Otherwise, you have to pay credits to fast travel.

There’s 50 of them scattered throughout the world.

So it's just like Forza Horizon 3, which I seriously lost patience after a few hours.. honestly.. I miss simpler times before open world ruined racing games with repetitive tracks and endless pointless driving around the map to get to the next event.

I love open world games and I love sandbox.. but this being forced into racing games didn't work for me. Collectables in racing games is just straight up dumb.

Remember when you would just pick the next event from a list? Good times. =/

The concept got old fast.. .Every Need for Speed and Every Forza Horizon has now this Ubisoft style infused in a racing game. My point is, you spend more time doing nothing, than actually racing.

The last racing game I really enjoyed was Hot Pursuit from way back in 2010 (Not the remaster). It has an open world, but you would pick events from a list rather than wasting time driving around and collecting stuff.

I played probably around 20 hours of Horizon 3 and it just get way too exhausting... at some point I could no longer be bothered spending the next 10 minutes driving to the other side of the map for an event that would only last 3 minutes.

I wish they would simply remove the silly fast travel boards and let you simply use the map to pick the event and select an option to start the event right there from the map if you wish... or you can drive all the way there if you want it. Give option.

I agree with this part. Though fast traveling to the event location takes mere seconds using an SSD so i don't see a problem there but it would be more convenient to just select the event.

Guess I am older now, but I just have the time. Forza motorsport doesn't have the variety..

When you played a lot, you wont eve need to worry about money to fast travel anyways. Ive been doing it for two years and i didnt even collected all the boards yet. A couple of them are bugged and are impossible to collect since a year ago or so. Paying 2200 credits for fast travel when you have millions in your account.. you wont even notice it.

Just bought a house last night that allows travel anywhere to any road. Not sure if you have to pay though.

I also collected all of them in 2020. But things broke a few months ago. There are two boards that are glitched. They show up in the mini map but they are not really there. It doesnt happen with all players. Like many bugs, depends on your luck.

In any case, the point was, that collecting all the fast travel boards should not be a priority, in fact you could just avoid it. In less than a week of playing you will start having so much money you will forget about fast travel costs.

100% completed fast travel doesn't only freely teleport you to events, but also on roads and for a driving game this is a luxury and very convenient and saves you time, i.e., Forzathon anyone?
