Other than that, car moddifications and tunning.
Get racing tires, they have the most grip (and also cost the most points).
Make rear tires as wide as possible. More contact surface = more grip.
Install aero if car doesn't have it already. It won't help at launch, but will help you keep traction at high speed.
If car sticks to ground well in straights, but loses traction in corners for apparently no reason, it might be just not stable enough. Get racing suspension to lower it, and install spacers if car can have them.
If car slips on slightest acceleration in fast corners, raise rear of a car, and make springs there softer for extra damping.
It's difficult to not floor the pedal on keyboard.
I tried quite a few times to play on a controller, but it's driving me mad. And my Logitech G27 Wheel was sold 2 years ago.

simply adjusting throttle by pressing and letting it go works well enough
Keyboards are not ment for car games, period. Its just 0% or 100% with a keyboard.
bullsh*t. You can easily play on keyboard almost any racing game except some really hardcore sims(FH4 is not). I Got all achievements for FH4 on keboard, i got all achievements for Dirt Rally on keyboard(that includes winning three different Master championships on three different cars). In FH4 it all comes down to tunning your car. The only thing you need controller for is being able to break without ABS.
Look @ the weight distribution; it'll give you a % for the front & subtract that from 100 for the rear. Now you have W% front & W% rear. You'll need to look at the max and min for some of the settings. These are your start settings & you can tweak from there.
anti-roll is (max-min) x W% = start setting
rebound is (max-min) x W% + min = start setting
bump stiffness is rebound start setting x .6 (60%) for a start setting
springs is same formula as rebound
Under the aero tab, shift towards cornering to increase your down force (will drop your top end speed).
Under braking, shift a little more to the rear brakes and the second adjustment goes to 200%
Master of suffering )) You can play any race game, but not so easily as with controller. BTW, there are no difficult achievements in this game...
Well, the one where you have to win eliminator without picking up car drops gave me some trouble.
It's not about difficulty, it's about random. You need an occasion to make it...
Ofc you CAN play car sims on keyboard but it's not ideal and you have 0 feedback.
I would not play CS with a gamepad,
I would never play MS flight simulator with a wheel and
I would never play a car game with a keyboard.
You CAN choose the "wrong" tool for a job and still do it but you will either struggle more or get no/less immersion. Say you wanna cruise at a constant speed with a keyboard... I guess you need to tap the gas constantly to maintain a steady slow speed - while on trigger/pedals you just hold it where it needs to be. Theres a reason you have a steering wheel and pedals in a real car and not a keyboard to tap on, lol...
