In Forza Horizon 4, Getting Error Code E:28-0, Game Crashes Shortly After
After the game goes through the loading screens and is on the "Start Game" and "Accessibility" screen, I start the game and a box comes up saying "The Forza Horizon profile you are trying to load is no longer available. For more information, please visit support. https://aka.ms/FH4GameSave Error Code E:28-0" and then crashes after the message spams repeatedly (it appears, disappears, then reappears multiple times a second).

This should work, maybe not. Locate your steam userdata folder,
> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\
You'll then see some random file with numbers. Open the one that has been modified recently, then navigate to another folder 1293830

You may want to backup this folder, and try deleting it.

Starting the game should resync your data from forza, or your profile may have been corrupted. In this case I would contact them, as forza discussion is not the best way to get direct support from them.

Hope this helps.

This happens to me too, I just wanted to reset my progress to start from scratch and something went wrong I think. Sad.

Deleting the folder didn't fix this for me, but if did point me in the right direction. If you...

1) go into the "remote" folder inside 1293830, find and delete the file "User_X.ProfileData" (where X=a string of letters and numbers)
2) Find file "User_X.ProfileBackup" and rename it to "User_X.ProfileData" (Don't change anything but the file extension)

It should restore your backup save and get you going again. You'll lose a little bit of progress, but better than losing the whole save.

Sorry to revive an old post, but just had this issue myself and the above fixed it for me. Wanted to share for anyone else who has the same problem.

1. Go to the folder where Sream is installed:
Steam\userdata\ (User ID) \1293830\remote
If not found, the default is in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ (User ID) \1293830\remote

2. There are three game archives at the bottom of the remote folder, which are:
User_*********.ProfileData (game save file)
User_*********.ProfileBackup (The first backup file of the game)
User_*********_Backup.ProfileBackup (The second backup file of the game,
same as the first backup file)

3. Please delete the file User_********.ProfileData, and rename
User_********.ProfileBackup to User_********.ProfileData

4. Successfully solves this problem . You can restart Forza Horizon 4 to continue
playing with the backed up save file.
