Cant connect with friends

Hi. As title says, we see each other online on the xbox companion app and can launch the game from the app by joining friends session...
However session i get is without friends and even tho they online, when i open friends list it says no friends online.
This is happening to a group of us. Between 8 people, only 2 can connect to each other to nobody else.
Please help!?!

This didnt work for me, i have the same issues as the topic problem.
When i go to invite friends it says no friends online, i have all my settings to open. I have also checked my Xbox networking in my pc settings and my nat type is open and the sever connectivity is connected. i even tried to join my friends game through the Xbox companion app through (windows + G) and it does nothing. i am only able to join onto one of my friends when he is online but the rest of my friends i am unable to play with.

This could just be because you, or your friends, haven't finished the tutorial yet. The online portion of the game only unlocks once you've gone through the first four seasons and done a showcase event, which takes about an hour or two.

It could also be due to the convoi settings you and your friends have, because some may have changed it to "invite only" instead of "my friends can join me". The latter makes it easier for anyone to join up someone else's session (you get prompts join someone's session in the main pause menu or if they are doing online adventures with this setting)
