Steam / "Xbox Sign-in" black/white window Fix

lets keep it simple, after struggling a lot I finally got past the black/white xbox sign in window
And this is how I did it.

But beforehand make sure that you have the latest drivers and the latest xbox service apps from the MS store. For system driver's you can simply use "DriveEasy Portable" for less hassle.

NOTE: download the xbox provider app online

Go to the browser version of the store since you won't be able to find the Xbox Identity Provider in the Windows10 Store, Click on "Get the app" and it will open the Windows Store and it will let you install the app.


disable unnecessary background apps like discord, game boosters etc.
Search for background app settings on windows and check if the xbox apps are enabled.

Press win+r and paste-in "services.msc" and hit enter. Scroll down till you see all the xbox services and set its startup type to automatic via properties.
Restart steam after making all the changes.

Now sign-in All the Xbox related apps.

After dealing with all that, I still kept getting the black sign-in box and that's when I realized it has something to do with the resolution.

1.Located the "forzaHorizon4.exe" and select properties->compatibility tab->change high dpi settings-> at the bottom -> check "enable high dpi scaling behavior" and set it to "system (enhanced)" and press okay.

2.check  the display settings for any higher resolution than your native res, if so, set it to the highest available and revert it  back to defaults once you are signed in from the game.

It's for those people facing the Xbox sign-in issue,which can be a black or a white window without any text or button to click on.
