If you can afford to buy both, get Horizon 4 now since FH5 is still 5 months away at this point. Or get the gamepass, there's an offer right now for literally $1 and you get 2 extra months free, and Horizon 4 is on it.
If you can wait and play other games in the meantime, more power to you. Just wait it out.

I got hyped for Forza Horizon after I saw the FH5 trailer, and bought FH4. I don't regret it at all! I'm having a lot of fun.

My only issues are that the progression is too quick (you get hypercars right away), that winter is annoying, and that the festival feeling is not as good as the previous games (who wants to go to an open air festival in the winter?).

The driving is great, the cars are great, the customization is amazing, the amount of content is endless, and the roads are fun to drive (much better than FH3).

I already have close to 200 hours on my account and I'm still playing. I don't doubt that it can give you at least that much in 5 months. It's worth the buy, if you are interested.

Absolutely not. lol I have an I7-920 and about the same spec gpu and I can run the game upscaled @ > 1080P. Forza 5 will run fine on the same setup.
