Personal wishlist for this games potential.
A very simple personal wishlist of mine. I've tried to ensure these aren't too difficult to add, and i've seperated my list into 3 segments according to (At least what I feel it is) the difficulty of adding those features

Easy stuff:

-First person mode
-People walking about
-Bigger grid
-More building tools (Holding click and dragging, a fill tool for an enclosed area of the same height)
-Possibly hire a second person to help speed up development and ease the load off yourself.
-Pier railing colors being customizable.

Intermediate stuff:

-More lighting modes (Night time, sunset, moonset, possibly even with customization options of the sky color and the color of the sun and moon. Maybe even a binary star mode with 2 shadows casted.

-More ambiance (Like some ships in the distance, some driftwood, perhaps the game could detect a dock and have a ship come in and have a bunch of people get on/leave.)

-More themes (What if i want it to be a desert instead of an ocean? Or a plains? Why not go crazy and make a floating city in the clouds?)

-More styles. This doesn't need to be in the form of new shapes, even just retexturing the already existing shapes and having different details would be great.

-Terrain in the form of having an extra layer under the piers (Callinstead has a good visualization of this but I couldn't figure out how to link to it. Another suggestion would to make the layer above the terrain a foundation layer much like the piers are already.)

-Workshop modding support allowing people to add their own things

Harder stuff:

-(Assuming terrain gets added) 3-D terrain in the form of having a mesh. Much like the structures stretch and bend to synchronize with the grid already, perhaps allowing for terrain to be made 3-D, and have a similar system where the structures stretch and bend to conform to the terrain. Terrain wouldn't have its own set of layers, instead it'd have a heightmap of sorts that the rest of the town (IE the first layer of buildings) conforms too.

-(Assuming terrain gets added) Different types of terrain (perhaps different colors of building could correlate to different terrain at the base; Tan may produce desert while green produces grass and gray produces stone. Perhaps you could even use blue to manually place water in, or red for magma. Anything more complicated would both be infeasible and also ruin the games simplicity, But i feel like once the feature is added, the various textures wouldn't be as difficult.)

-Interiors (This would be byfar the most taxing second only to the next one which has this as a prerequisate, so i don't expect this or the next one to ever be added, but it would be amazing if interiors could become a thing)

-Underground mode (This one is byfar the hardest, even moreso than interiors as interiors would be a pre-requisite for it. But imagine if you could go under the ground and build there. Blocks would represent tunnels and hollow areas instead of buildings, This, combined with first person mode, would be groundbreaking for dungeons.

Probably what i want the most, though, is a development roadmap. I don't really have any mind to the release dates, I just want to see whats coming next and whats coming after.

I do not expect much of this stuff to be added, especially not the more complicated stuff like interiors and underground. But this game has a lot of potential and I don't want that to be wasted. Although, if you start feeling overwhelmed (Since a lot of eyes are on you and a lot of demanding ones at that - And as a single developer there's no way thats easy) and drop the project for whatever reason, please make it open source so anybody could pick up development where you leave off.

I also apologize for posting a wishlist in the first place.. You already have plenty of those to read through, So I'm sorry if this comes off as spam or simply reiterates what other people have said.

I really likes some of these ideas, I would also like to see night time as well, I think that can go great with some more ambiance.
I'm definitely a fan of these ideas, especially different styles. Being able to have areas for sleepy residential, industrial, slum, shopping center etc. would be really neat. The ability to adjust the road/platform styles is also something I'd love to see!

And as difficult as it'd probably be, workshop support for the little citizen models walking around would be lovely, as I'm sure the community could come up with some neat pedestrians. :)

Yeah these suggestions are great! They would make this game even better than it is now.

Those are some excellent suggestions! I agree with everyone, they would definitely enhance this game.

The ambiance is a great idea, and I would also love more styles. Different architecture from different time periods and regions would be amazing.
