different constructions/embelishments like statues, columns and monuments
also maybe some random citizen sprites of little people walking around and going in and out of buildings
1) Zoom - A big city can just get too small, on the screen, to feel as much of an attachment for.
2) 1st person walk through. - Or, at least a camera mode so you could move around and take pictures.
3) Just a little more control. - I really like the fact that you have limited direct control. That helps with my creativity. But knowing about a few rules would be great. For instance, I didn't know about the enclosed areas turning into grass, at first. I would have never found it out probably, because I don't usually build that way. Now that I do, it causes me to think of ways to use that fact and still have the city be what I want. Stimulating.
4) Appearance - Some really general types of zones or buildings. Houses or businesses for instance. Or more direct water interaction like docks or swimming areas. Different kinds of pavement and housing appearance.
To me the challenge would be to add some spice, and still keep the beautiful simplicity that the game has now.

Also I want more sound in general to give life to the game.
A mode where the base layer is land rather than water. Perhaps with a way to toggle between making terrain and buildings.
A way to add labels/notes throughout the build.
I love this toy, thank you!
It would be also totaly mental when you could take a walk through your own petite town.
