Your savegames are stored in "C:\Users\ *YourWindowsUserName* \AppData\LocalLow\Oskar Stalberg\Townscaper\"
Or you can copy your "towncode" (that you use for sharing) in a textfile
(That is an actual 3d model of your whole town, to import in other programs and play around with.)"
OK, i read that, they were talking about Blender, but I want to get my saves back on townscaper so when I read the following..
Well, you are scaring me. I kept the obj. file from the mac, before it was reboot.
"Your savegames are stored in "C:\Users\ *YourWindowsUserName* \AppData\LocalLow\Oskar Stalberg\Townscaper\"
I found the file i wanted in the folder OBJ exports
"Or you can copy your "towncode" (that you use for sharing) in a textfile"
Do you mean taking the same "townscaper" folder, but in "saves"?
And copying those ".scapes" files in a text file, and saving it on another computer, in the same file, as "name.scapes?
Have I lost my creation? Can I get back my .scape file with my .obj file? :'(
Did I understood right?
- You can't convert a *.obj back and you can't use it to load your town again (sorry)
- If you are ingame and got a town that you want to save (and maybe transfer), you can click the "Save to Clipboard" button in the menu on the right side of the screen.
This will copy some text which you can just paste (like in copy&paste) into a text document and save it somewhere.
Copy the text (again like in copy&paste) and click the "Load from Clipboard" button to load your town again.
Obviously there's no guide for townscaper and that's what got me in trouble, I can't only complain on myself, to me saving=export obj.file, I never thought of watching a save file, and would always save my works in the .obj folder.
I had the game for 1 year, and made some other buildings but this one was so dope, it's so bad that there's no instruction, only fan-made guides (that I never watched much).
PFFF with a so intuitive interface, (i'm french), i couldn't guess that the clipboard had this use, this is really a strange way to transfer your saves.
Anyway, thanks for beeing more informative than those silent devs..
You were the first to ever respond. I will surely get back to Townscaper slowly, after so much expectation to end my work :'(
I just found you by pure chance.
Edit:
Oooooohhhh .... I totally forgot! While you can't load the obj file back into the game ... you can at least look at it and even walk through it.
Go to this site and just drag and drop your obj files in there https://meliharvey.github.io/threescaper/
In which software I can open .obj files? I mean that using a software to see my old productions is tempting
And using Blender is ... not easy.
There are a few simple online viewer too (just an example https://3dviewer.net/)
