Were you making it to 120 waves before? what other weapons did you have? how many other captains were upgraded?
I too made it to 120, and beat the game first try with ram, but i have a lot of cubes invested in stuff and chose combos i am comfortable with. So Is it legitimately op, or do we just use it well? I had nova, ramfists, wolfpack, and plasma. I never play without plasma.
It does VERY well on the swarm enemies. Those used to be the run enders but now they just get smacked aside. I suspect combined with slime trail this would be a crazy combo. Not sure about with vermilion as crew because standing still in this game is suicide unless there is a tactic i am unaware of. that may need some rework, like an increase for weapon range, damage or critical?
I do think the knock back distance is too much though, I think like half a screen MAX with like a log curve for power would keep the gloves in line. I also think that the invulnerability is a tad strong.
Rather instead of RAM being OP, I think its simply that Nova and Static field are lousy late game, and rockets and laser are just useless.
I think the inability to use them safely on the Firebird boss is plenty for balance.
I think they just need their own captain to become strong.

Now with Ram fists you just bounce those away and convert them into extra damage and spacing
Vermillion + Ram copilot is probably the best setup right now, with 360° auto coverage you just spin to win
You could add a third copilot but i'd rather max out static field especially for the slow down, and rockets
Getting surrounded by the enemies that swarm you.
Thanks to the Boxing Gloves, you can now escape that and even do a ton of damage. Heck, you basically now WANT to be surrounded like that as that gives you more suckers to bounce the others into and thus do more damage.
So yeah, Boxing Gloves are OP, and I am glad that they are. I was really struggling with this game getting past the third boss and now I can finally do runs that can even go to the end.
The boxing glove is still an incredibly good weapon for this game because it's a direct counter to this game's sole threat, not having an escape route, but hull invincibility alone has got me much farther than I could have gone without it.
