Game crashes when clicking to Play a song (Windows 10)

So I recently upgraded a PC had with a clean install of Windows 10 for a while and decided to try Audiosurf again. I am able to run full screen no problem (aside from a small graphics glitch at the title screen). When I select a song however and click Play, they game will crash with 'QuestViewer.exe' has stopped working error.
I tried re-installing and re-verifying, but it still crashes.

did you try "verify game integrity cache" in the game properties? It's an old problem that still pops up from time-to-time. https://steamcommunity.com/app/12900/discussions/0/828939797139158854/ old thread discussion that involves the same thing, but from a previous windows OS.

Yes, I did try it as I said in the main post. The first time it did find files to re-verify. The second run it was still broken, so I tried again, but it didn't do anything.

I presume you got up-to-date PC drivers, I doubt it's a audio problem, and if you did the basic steps that are recommended for fixing common game issues, the only possibility is that a steam update may have caused instability for you. I'll continue to look for a possible solution, and will let you know if I find anything that may help.

same here, though it only happens for specific songs for me and I'm not sure why
may have something to do with the file of the song itself and not the game?
