Upcoming new Specialization

One of the new specializations coming to Siralim Ultimate 2.0 is called the Mesmerist, developed by one of our supporters through the backer shop.

To borrow the creator’s original description: The Mesmerist is a master of being untouched. They outclass enemies with their arcane illusions—and their ability to manipulate the subconscious minds of both their Artifacts and their enemies. The Mesmerist steals strengths from their enemies, replacing them with their own weaknesses. Enemies never realize the Mesmerist’s true vulnerability until it’s too late.

In more concrete terms, this specialization revolves around controlling buffs and debuffs to disrupt enemies. It also emphasizes the use of the “Dark Crystal” spell which applies Shell and Arcane to its target. This is absolutely not an easy spec to play with, but it is very interesting and powerful once you get used to it. Here are a few of its perks:

Gestalt Intelligence: At the start of battle, your creatures gain Dark Crystal. Your creatures’ Dark Crystal now targets all allies whose Artifacts have a matching Trick Slot material.

Traumatism: After one of your creatures dies, one of its allies casts its top-most Dark Crystal spell gem.

Escamotage: Your creatures have an 80% chance to avoid losing their Arcane and Shell buffs.

Superstition: Your creatures are immune to debuffs that match their Artifacts’ Trick Slots.

Oneirophrenia: Enemies resistant to Sleep have a 60% chance to lose their turn.

This specialization starts the game with a new creature called the Marionette Hypnotist.

Figured you guys might appreciate this one the developer leaked on Discord. Superstition is particularly interesting to me, but as an anointment. If you're willing to sacrifice a trick slot for it, you can get immunity to Silenced for your team on specializations that normally don't get that, something that normally isn't an option except for certain masteries, or going with debuff resistance which doesn't entirely prevent silenced, but reduces the damage (and healing/stat modification) and requires 2 trait slots to give it to the whole team.

I'm not sure how the whole spec will play, but I imagine some fun theorycrafting might happen once its out.
