where to farm certain resources?

Hi guys, new to the game. Is there a way to know where you can farm the resource you need? I need copper ingots to upgrade the blacksmith, but no idea where they are. Even though im just starting and there are only 3 locations to look at, im just asking for future resources.

all project materials can be found any realm anywhere just the smaller the number the rarer it is

while we are at it, and this might be a dumb question, but you have to chose the item you want from the chest or you loot them all?
