Best ways to get Nether Stones?
I know you can find them at random on the ground in realms and also from treasure chests in realms it seems. They are very rare!

Any tips on finding more? Can they be obtained outside of visiting a realm? Like purchasing the Large Chest from the Dwarfs for 10,000 currency? OR by any other means at all?

Turn the realm instability up to 5 and push depth. At realm 1300+ they become fairly regular. There's also a rumor that Swamplands gives more stones, but I can't confirm that.

I will check that out? Also Realm Instability level changes the % chance of finding them? I thought you had to JUST play with any level of Realm Stability? But I will check that out too. I'm only at 320 realm depth. lol But I'm like 100+ hours from being done with this game.

I doubt that Swamplands would be different. But curious what is the rumor based on?

Swamplands is one of the realms that has lots of additional treasure nodes.

Ah yeah. Then I assume it might improve the odds a little.

In my experience it improves the odds quite a bit. I've had lucky days where I've played for 2-3 hours and ended up with 10-15 nether stones from swamplands.

Most of the time I get around 1-2 stones if playing other realms. Anecdotal evidence for sure but it has already been proven that some realms are better for farming things (casino for dwarf tickets, for example. Vulcanor's realm gives loads of either brimstone or granite. Aurum's realm gives more spell gem materials etc.)

Will try it.

Oh yeah another information which you might not know about. The more treasures you get the game will raise the odds until you get one so there will never be a crazy long dry period. If all loot obtained from the Swamplands is included then it should give you a few extra Nether Stones in shorter time.

Realm Instability improves it too because there's more items in one loot.

Do you have a reference for the loot odds thing you'r talking about? I haven't heard this before.

From https://www.thylacinestudios.com/siralim-ultimate-nether-stones/ :
Nether Stones are extremely rare items. You’ll probably find one every 10 to 20 realms. They’re so rare that I’ve added a pity timer to them so that each time you open a treasure chest or find loot in some other way, your chance to find a Nether Stone will increase slightly until you finally find one. That way, you won’t go through a horrible dry period where you don’t find any for an extremely long time.

But to be honest sometimes Nether Stones feel meh regardless of good traits. If you do Realm Instability 5 you will quite often get only maximum 1 extra trait, meaning only your artifact trait will work. It's basically if as you make any ARPG with good gear will not work in many runs lol.

Nether stones can have more than 1 trait though. This is why chasing them is fun, because you will very rarely roll one with more than 1 trait.
I have a few stones with 3 traits, for example.
For the most part nether stone traits are meh because of how random the system is but whe. You find one that replaces a creature trait in one of your builds it opens up options that were not possible before.

But Realm Modifier (maximum extra trait: 1) will render all traits useless. And you get it often in Realm Instability 5.
