A couple of easy god battle strategies
I'm mainly posting this to enhance my own feeling of catharsis after spending about 4 hours grinding assassination quests for trait slot items only to find out things didn't work the way I expected. Just before I quit out of discouragement, I had the following idea for the Yseros battle and it worked like a charm. It requires that you have the Avatar of Friden, but don't worry, I'll explain how to beat Friden too. This is using the evoker specialization.

For Yseros:

Have the Avatar of Friden fused with a Clawing Cockatrice (so Friden's race changes to occultist in battle) as the last monster in your party and the rest of them occultists. Have the following traits distributed somewhere in your party: Master of Occultists and Cosmic Vulpes. Finally, fill your spell gem slots (monster and artifact) with powerful healing spells. On the first turn your creatures will spam healing spells and Yseros' team will all follow suit. Because of Master of Occultists, you'll never run out of charges and because of Friden, Yseros' team will all have blighted. They'll all heal themselves to death. You may have to experiment with traits a little bit beyond that and you may sometimes get bad RNG with the Cosmic Vulpes trait. Remember to make use of the cloud save feature so failed attempts don't result in loss of keys (REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR ID TO A 12 DIGIT NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!).

For Friden (and most other gods):

Have a team of all occultists with Master of Occultists and Cosmic Vulpes traits in there somewhere. Slot ALL your artifacts spell gem slots with Determination and give your creatures healing spells. Also use a lot of traits that grant bonuses to you on spell casts and debuffs to enemies on spell casts. Do everything you can to increase the number of casts your occultists make (Amphisbaena Chef, chance to cast twice on spell gems etc.). By the time the first turn starts, Determination will have activated so many times that your max HP and defense will be stupid high and Friden's team will have so many debuffs that you're practically invincible. Then just slowly heal Friden's team to death. For other gods, replace Cosmic Vulpes with Terra Vulpes and healing spells with damage spells. Easy peasy.

Like I said, this is mostly for my own catharsis, but if other people benefit from this, all the better. Now that I feel better, I'm going to go take a nice long walk while listening to Slayer. Maybe the Reign in Blood album, or Seasons in the Abyss.

Also, for the love of god, PLEASE, devs, cut back on the grinding. The amount of grinding you have to do in this game to get what you want is absurd.

EDIT: Oh! I forgot. These strategies were done on power level 10 because I'm trying to ascend evoker. Now the only god I have left to defeat on power level 10 is Gonfurian, and boy, figuring out THAT one with evoker is gonna be gnarly!

Do you have good tips for Mortem?

You can easily slaughter every other god with 3 Diabolic Hordes, Cockatrices Out Cast No longer and a few fun creatures. I use Azural (slot 6) and Walken (slot 5), slot 4 is a just a fun creature. Against Torun and Meraxis I use Phase Warrior Knight on slot 4.

If possible use some hard hitting Anointments like eternal echo, bafflement, voracity etc.

But Mortem needs theoretically 100 hits...

In theory i would use Brownie Master trait extra attack for every brownie

For Mortem I used an all Occultist team with at least one Celestial and one Spider, Determination on every spell gem artifact slot and with the Master of Occultists and Terra Vulpes traits mixed in. With good RNG, by turn 1 the Celestial Occultist will have afflicted every monster on Mortem's team with snare and frozen (if 1 or 2 make it through, they usually don't do enough damage to wipe your team, and you can recover). Then, just slowly whittle him away. The Celestial Occultist will keep reapplying snare and frozen, and you're golden. Effectively, Mortem's team will never get a chance to act once the debuff chain starts.
