They could do that, but its hard to say at this point. The second update in the roadmap is already late, so its possible they're reworking the roadmap to account for ♥♥♥♥ taking longer, and didn't expect anyone to notice the gap between wiping the old one, and then providing an updated one.
I don't know when the roadmap got nuked, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that the games not being completely abandoned until they either say otherwise, or we see a few more weeks of silence.
I dont understand why you would be upset, companies sometimes go bankrupt if that happens you dont blame them why they dont produce anymore, right ? As long as there are still updates coming, i wouldnt be worried. But lets be honest, those are hard times for the devs. I am not sure if Team17 may stopped their financing. Like i said i am a player like you, all i am saying is purely speculating !
For an indie game, its numbers don't indicate a flop, but I also can't be sure how much money was thrown at the project, and how much Team17 expected back out of it. Could be a victim of bad sales, could be a victim of unrealistic expectations. The latter would explain the poor launch state and inability to push the date back.
Still, until the devs elaborate, we don't know what the state of things are. For all we know, the roadmap got axed because they're turning around to rebuild a lot of the core fundamentals that are leading to a poor experience, a 2.0 attempt of sorts, and that it'll be going silent for a while to do that.
While I'm fairly pessimistic on the outlook of this game, I'll at least wait until the devs say as much before I start shouting the end is nigh from the nearest steep.
Think its fair to say its well and truly abandoned.
well there are no updates for months now so it's time to get worried cause I'm pretty sure this is a red flag and what this means is that it is truly over.
I refunded this game over a year ago since there are really no play worthy update and that time it was buggy as hell and unbalanced. Thanks for pointing this out, it is done I guess. Time to move on to better colony survival game like the upcoming update and DLC for rimworld. Good bye lads
