Roadmap has been deleted
Hi all, thought I'd bring this up - Has anyone else noticed that the roadmap has been scrubbed from the news and links? If you go to the events & announcements post, it just fails to load the event. If you go through the News tab on steam, its not there. But, there's still a link on Reddit to it, but its dead. Sticking it into the Wayback Machine[web.archive.org] confirms it is the roadmap announcement.

Has the roadmap been cancelled?

So what? They not gonna do what they claimed they would? Like add better models?

Definitely a catch-22; Reviews won't improve until the game does, sale activity likely reflects review score, and lack of sales makes it difficult to justify investing resources into the project to fix it.

They could do that, but its hard to say at this point. The second update in the roadmap is already late, so its possible they're reworking the roadmap to account for ♥♥♥♥ taking longer, and didn't expect anyone to notice the gap between wiping the old one, and then providing an updated one.

I don't know when the roadmap got nuked, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that the games not being completely abandoned until they either say otherwise, or we see a few more weeks of silence.

That pretty much told me not to check back on the game again. Thanks for highlighting this.

Like i said i seriously dont know why it got deleted. Just said that i wouldnt wonder. It was a personal oppinion, nothing from any of the devs. I AM NOT on the payroll, i am just a player like you guys.

I dont understand why you would be upset, companies sometimes go bankrupt if that happens you dont blame them why they dont produce anymore, right ? As long as there are still updates coming, i wouldnt be worried. But lets be honest, those are hard times for the devs. I am not sure if Team17 may stopped their financing. Like i said i am a player like you, all i am saying is purely speculating !

I don't think he meant to sound rude with the "so what", it's more like a "so what now?" rather than "so?"

Hard to say, really. The best we have publicly are estimates, which put it somewhere between 50k and 100k copies sold. Compared to the original, which estimates half a million or more, it seems bad. But the original is well reviewed, and has been through many deep discounts since it came out, and is going for like $4 at an 80% discount right now.

For an indie game, its numbers don't indicate a flop, but I also can't be sure how much money was thrown at the project, and how much Team17 expected back out of it. Could be a victim of bad sales, could be a victim of unrealistic expectations. The latter would explain the poor launch state and inability to push the date back.

Still, until the devs elaborate, we don't know what the state of things are. For all we know, the roadmap got axed because they're turning around to rebuild a lot of the core fundamentals that are leading to a poor experience, a 2.0 attempt of sorts, and that it'll be going silent for a while to do that.

While I'm fairly pessimistic on the outlook of this game, I'll at least wait until the devs say as much before I start shouting the end is nigh from the nearest steep.

Iv been seeing this with a lot of indie games lately. Ive seen it a few times with Team 17 already. I understand why they would do that (they wouldnt have been around since the 90s if they had not) but it is very sketchy and I have lost a lot of trust with them. I used to buy almost every Team 17 game but that is no longer a problem as I have seen the error in my ways.

So I have noticed they missed the 1 year anniversary of the game release. No comments from the studio at all. While I didn't expect a grand fantastic return, its not a good image to just ignore your games first birthday.

Think its fair to say its well and truly abandoned.

well there are no updates for months now so it's time to get worried cause I'm pretty sure this is a red flag and what this means is that it is truly over.

I refunded this game over a year ago since there are really no play worthy update and that time it was buggy as hell and unbalanced. Thanks for pointing this out, it is done I guess. Time to move on to better colony survival game like the upcoming update and DLC for rimworld. Good bye lads
