The best thing i can think of that fits this is something like 2-B from nier automata, or bowsette. Its a random and totally internet phenomenon that just happens, kinda like memes. Its also not always waifu stuff either. Jojos Bizarre Adventure is a good example of that.

Put simply, vanripper made this game BECAUSE he wanted to spark more fanart of demon girls on business suits, and the fanbase was happy to oblige with the groundwork laid by vanripper
It also just kinda happens when your fans love your character's design (ie Nier Automata, Yo-Yo, Touhou, etc)
tl;dr This game was almost entirely made as a means to fanart bait to what vanripper wanted
