Does The Game Save Between Judgement's Stages?

I've made it to the 4th stage of Judgement's level and I was wondering if I exited, if I would start up back here or if I would go back to stage 1.

It saves the part you're on when you die, but not upon reloads.

I figured that would be the case, fortunately the first three stages aren't too difficult so I should be able to make it up relatively quickly.

If you mean stages, than yes. There are a total of 4 stages to the Sin Machine, which is Judgement's level.
