isn't she a fallen angel just like Lucifer? she was punished cause she teached humans forbidden knowledge, such as weaponry and make-up. I mean it makes sense that she lost her innonce through a trip in hell but wouldn't that make the game take place at a time when police and pancakes didn't even exist?

Fallen Angels are banned from Heaven by God- she would not have access to return.

Base on the "Divine Comedy" - every soul not pinned with hell can visiting hell.

In early Christianity: Lucifer was still a beautiful (fallen) Angel.
Priests and stuff makes him ugly.

yeah I know, I really love his depiction in Alexander Cabanel's "Fallen Angel", I know he was depicted as beautiful and the Church had to step in and make him ugly to prevent people from liking him

well, my question wasn't on their appearence, but on Azazel not being banned from Heaven yet: Azazel can clearly take the Helltaker to Heaven which means she's still not banned, guess in the game she hasn't brought the forbidden knowledge to humans yet

also yeah I know after all it's just a game and it doesn't have to be "realistic",
I mean Pandemonica, Malina and Zdrada are purely fictional, Judgment is from the tarot cards, Cerberus and Justice are from Greek mythology while Lucifer, Azazel, Beelzebub and Asmodeus (the demon on which Modeus is based) are from the Bible;
I just wanted to discuss some lore
