Beginners Guide
I started a guide for players new to Brass Birmingham to help them avoid some mistakes I made. I've still not played lots so would appreciate comments and thoughts from experienced players.

I just started reading, but for consistency, in first section, when talking about actions per player... technically it's 31 for 4 players, so as players go up, actions per player go down -- may want to be consistent.

I find that some new players are afraid of taking a loan, but then go the other way and take too many loans. The key to brass is optimizing turn efficiency, and each loan is a 'burned' action, so don't be afraid to take loans, but make sure you capitalize on the ones you do take to maximize your income. Too many loans is too many wasted actions.

Thanks @galewind12 much appreciated. The 2/3/4 was a silly mistake so thanks for picking up, I've fixed it. I'll wait for a few more comments then incorporate (and credit you) with the second comment.

have you looked at player guides and cheat sheets at places like boardgamegeek.com? Although this digital edition is new, the game isn't. There might be a lot of resources you can steal, er... I mean you can borrow from, if you are intent on starting a guide like this yourself.

@rectorsquid yes to a degree. I've played myself on cardboard for the last year so absorbed those guides during that time.

Perhaps I'll add a further reading section to point to useful threads and save me stealing other people's work.

My main intention was two-fold with this guide: 1. To build a guide for new steam players who haven't found other resources for the board game. 2. To help cement my knowledge by forcing me to evaluate and consider my own thoughts on the game. There's nothing like writing about a game and it's strategy to help you learn it better.
