I disagree with that. As Mountain Clans were the original enemies to the Undead Horde.

The MC did imprison Bethrezen, their god(Wotan) also is the reason Motris(Undead Goddess) by turning into a wolf and ripping Gallean's heart and throwing it into the sun.
Motris(lover of Gallean) wants vengeance against Wotan and his disciples. It's in the first game lore.
As well as, in the firsr game in the Undead saga your main enemy are the MC and it's reserve for MC. MC have a lot of involvement in the series.
It's sad they aren't having a big role in the third game.
Also, Bethrezen was imprisoned by other gods, not by dwarves. Dwarves created the seal to keep Legions away after their first invasion long time ago.
That said, dwarves have by far the most boring lore overall. Also, back when Strategy First (the original developer) were still in charge of the series, they said that after D2 Dwarves are a dying race with over half of the clans completely wiped out, so...
