a couple of questions + some rambling.
I am playing on hard because people said normal was to easy , and I find myself loosing troops quite often. The enemy will just stack on whoever they can reach and destroy them in a turn , not much I can do about that. is that normal or am I doing something wrong?

this leads into my second question, do I need to worry much about economy ?
So far I´ve had no problems but I guess I bought and upgraded to many tier 1 troops bc when I realised I could build level 2 units I don´t have enough money to buy and upgrade very many of them.
Can I paint myself into a corner where I don´t have the resources to continue?

Should I focus on one or two factions? I do like variety and getting to test out units though, they´re all cool in their own ways.

and lastly wow this game is much better than I thought, when I first started I was "this is okey..I guess"...after a couple of hours I was like "hmm feels like a mediocre mobile game ..not much to it good thing it was cheap"..
now after a few more hours it´s really clicked and I think it´s great.
combat does not seem super deep but it´s deep enough for me and the enemies going "sploff" into a cloud of blood is always fun to watch and the writing is very enjoyable. Much of the stuff I did totally not expect.

hope this game does well enough, though I can understand people who expected a true successor to the older titles being disappointed.
Guess I´d feel the same way if they had announced baldurs gate 3 but now it´s a cinematic action adventure game with over the shoulder camera..

1. It's normal to take a few losses until Avyanna's power really takes off midgame. Realistically, you need to save-scum to never take any losses in the Brutal difficulty base game. But Wall of Thorns is available very early, and makes many battles very easy (I'd say *too* easy, and that some sort of nerf is warranted).
2. In your first run, yes, it's best to prioritize the 1-2 factions with the level 4 buildings/units you care about most. Maximum variety comes in your second run after you've unlocked Liberation Mode.

There is no need to save scum, at least when you have a few mines with resources. I lost many units on brutal (even early game) and still was fine

Yes, losing units is not a big deal in this game. My point was just that if you've set the challenge for yourself of completing the base game without ever losing any units, *that* realistically requires save-scumming at Brutal difficulty. (And it should; if it didn't, it would imply that Brutal is too easy.)
uh anyone got any tips , I must be doing something very wrong since everyone was complaining how easy it was, getting destroyed on hard mode and I just got to my third area which is the demons thing area. Loosing so many troops I can barely afford to upgrade anything or even replace troops I´m loosing.

my tier 2 guys needs to whack away at their guys several turns befoer they die but their guys kill my guys in one or two turns.

It is not easy, it is actually hard indeed.

Do you have Wall of Thorns? (I think it's available from a quest in the Empire starting area?) If yes, you can often use it to create a chokepoint or even entirely block the enemies, and then easily win with a mostly-mage army (at tier 2, I like Elementalists since they have the best basic attack).

As for being unable to afford upgrades, it's a bit sad but you can always just leave your computer in-game overnight to collect resources from your mines. (Incidentally, this implies that the primary game "score" is time-to-completion, like in Heroes of Might and Magic. I'm hoping that after a few more patches, the game will be in a good enough state that minimizing time-to-completion will be an interesting challenge.)

My second brutal run is without Wall of Thorns and it is extremely challenging, I keep losing units in almost every battle now.

Wall of thorns is a spell?
I do not have wall of thorns, I´ll try and get that and see if it helps a bit.
thanks

Yes, it is a spell which makes up to 3 tiles in a row unpassable except by fliers.
