Cannot Start Game - "Your File Couldn't Be Accessed"

I have long wanted to play this game, but I have run into perhaps the most baffling and perplexing problem I've ever had with a game while trying. Every time I try to start the game I get a half-sized window in the top left of my screen that claims "Your File Couldn't Be Accessed" followed by "It may have been moved, edited or deleted" and the "ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND" error code.

Considering this is literally off a fresh install, I am more confused than I've ever been. Even stranger, trying to get steam to verify the files of this fresh install tells me that it verifies all "0 files" and then instantly stops.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me what the hell is going on here?

This is perhaps the most egregious thing I've seen with a game on Steam. For a game that is apparently this buggy to have no dedicated bug forum or staff to properly address it seems poorly thought out.

I will be requesting a refund. I hope you manage to solve this problem in case anyone else runs into it.

I'm sorry. We were under maintenance for 40 hours. Now everything is normal. I was preparing a surprise update for the fanbase before the start of my expedition. I have been doing my research far away in a jungle in South America in the past days, and a player just contacted me to communicate that I had missed something in the last surprise update. It is raining too much and the internet connection is oscillating here. However, I found some time today to fix it. Now everything is working. I hope you enjoy it.
