It’s an rpgmaker game, so I don’t think there is a way to make it full screen proper. I do hope there is a way though! Sorry I don’t have the answer you’re looking for.

RPG Maker games can't have a resolution higher than 480p iirc

F1 brings up the menu in Hylics 1 and then you should be able to change the setting to where the games starts in fullscreen, albeit at 480p with boarders.

When I do that there aren’t any borders but it’s completely full screen however it’s too stretched out , do you know how I get the boarders ?

RPG Maker games are kinda wild. It's hard to make them do anything you want really, on my last PC it did the same thing you're experiencing now, yet on my new one it does what you wish it did. Have you tried running it in any compatibility modes?

Have you tried "Run in 640x480 Screen Resolution" in the compatibility menu?

Not sure how to change resolution, but the easiest way to get it to full screen mode is by pressing ALT + ENTER. This is the case for most rpg maker games and alot of other old games in general.

I used a borderless windowing program called "Borderless Gaming". It's on steam, but there are dozens of free programs out there that do the same thing

(note: the following advice is regarding Hylics 1. Not Hylics 2.)

It may help to right click on the exe and adjust certain properties.

I'm looking at it in Windows 10.
Right click the "Game" exe > properties > compatibility > change high DPI settings.
toggle options like "Run in 640 x 480 resolution" and "Disable fullscreen optimizations",
and, in "change high DPI settings", it may help to check the boxes labeled
"Use this setting to fix scaling problems [...] instead of the one in Settings"
and
"Override high DPI scaling behavior [...]"
that way you can, I think, override system wide scaling settings.

Using windows 7 compatibility mode may also help.

Thank you for responding, i found the options you said dont seem to work or change anything sadly, however i used borderless gaming and i could play it in fullscreen but with the correct resolution. I tired the options you said but the resolution was still crusty as but thanks for the help anyways
