Sage's labyrinth - First switch?

So I've read a bit about these switches I'm supposed to be flipping in the sage's labyrinth, I see one that's across from a hole but I've bumped every wall in floor 1 and 2 and can't seem to find a way over there. I can't seem to find where to start this switch puzzle that's being mentioned, can anyone help me out?

Just explore more. Move to lower floors. There are other switches and to some you can only get after you press the others.
