How do you play this game in multiplayer?
I was playing with a friend and we didn't really understand how you're supposed to play this game 2 player. I'm talking about the trinket distribution. I feel like It'd be way better to have all the good trinkets on one player so they could do the most damage and kill the boss fast. If that's the case, then what's the point of playing 2 player?

From my experience (having mostly played local coop) this game is better in coop than alone. The game slows down when you play single player, so it's not boring playing with two players. You can put all the damage trinkets on one person and have the other person defend against projectiles and reload the damage dealer's cannon.
Also trinkets aren't the only source of damage, artifacts and ammo type will still help the second person.
If you choose your player characters with this in mind you can also take one for cannon shooting and one for harpoon shooting or one for melee.

Oh, and, the sentinel cannon might be fun and all, but having a second REAL cannon on board is very helpful.

O ok. I knew the sentry should be changed in miltiplayer, but the trinkets are what I was mainly confused on. ty

my brother and i found that generally we have one sentry, and one other cannon. we also found it best to have one person manning a cannon, and loading them. while the other is primarily in charge of reflects. this helps have one person getting the paddle trinkets, and the other getting the cannon trinkets.

PS dont forget the reflect person can also reflect your own cannon shots, so they can really maximize damage this way

one player focus on shooting, get all the projectiles damage, fire rate and etc.. the other one focus on reloading cannons, get all the paddles, harpoon and buffs on cannos you load trinkets to help on dps. Both defend the boat on high levels of the lighthouse, duplicate everyting that increase base damage or buff 30% any stats (damage or fire rate)

Trinkets' effectiveness is highly dependent on ammo type and cannon type, so my partner and I distribute trinkets based on how useful they will be for each of us. For example, the powershot works very well with the silver bullet, because it makes all fully charged shots criticals, so whoever uses the powershot should take that. Giving one player all the paddle upgrades is also more effective than distributing them equally.
