Most of those aspects can be used for this game aswell. It is veeery repetetive but somehow (atleast for me) it doesnt get boring. Yeah you have some varieties for those missions (and PvP is not that big of a deal to be honest). Each exofighter feels completely different and there is not much depth in those fighters or for a team comp because nothing really interacts with other things. The combat still feels very nice and fluent. With the fact that one round just lasts for 15 or 20 minutes it is a good game where you play a few rounds and the do something else if it gets boring. The only really downside of this game is the rig and chip system. The Rigs are ok but very uninspired and the same goes for the chips. The basic chips are just whatever and dont really see much usage besides filling the gap until you have the exofighter-exclusive chips. Those chips are also whatever becuase they dont change the abilities or the playstyle of an exofighter and just buffs them alittle bit. It would be much better and also deeper if we get chips that change certain abilities or change their effects. For example Barrages granade abilitie can be changed that instead of 3 small grenades he shoot a single, bigger and stronger granade. On the road map we get alpha and beta suits for the existing roaster so we will see if those suits are just "skins" to unlock as you progress with those suits or if those suits completely change the abilities (last one would be much better).
Yeah I kinda enjoy this game. I admitt that 60 Euros (for my country) is a tough price to deal with for what we get right now. I enjoy this game but I completely understand why people are mad about this game.
It died because they over hyped, under delivered and pushed live service way too hard.
What you just described isn't a good game.
And Anthem failed because it was boring and repetitive in an awful way. Coming from a day 1 buyer with remorse.
If it had been released as a simple coop game without the live service nonsense and hype, it would've been fine.
I enjoyed playing, the story was interesting and the different suits were different and fun.
Exactly like Exoprimal.
It died due to it’s own faults, not because people were bashing it.
