rubber bullets, explosive ammo

[Mandrake]

Explosive Ammo and Rubber Bullets are excellent one-off upgrades (and picking them will remove them from the upgrade pool for the rest of the run.)

Reload Speed and Bigger Clips are good choices unless you're using the Knife.

Ghost (less slowdown when touching enemies) is probably more useful than Slow Bullets or Serious Mode (running backwards).

Big Idol and Compass aren't that necessary once you're good at this game.
