Career/season mode is pointless

There just doesn't seem to be any need for it as there is no real progression and no continuity between seasons. You can start in literally any car from any class, if you do well or badly in a season it doesn't matter, the next season you can still join literally any class and any team. Also if you upgrade a car throughout the season and decide to continue with it in the subsequent season all upgrades are reset.

The career/season mode should be, you choose your starting tier/class and you get assigned the worst vehicle. You race throughout the season. Depending on your performance you receive offers from other teams, but not all teams. You should only receive offers from the next tier up if you come first or second in the end of season standings.

For example. I start in tier 5 speedway bike worst team. I complete the season in 10th place. I then get offers from other teams in the speedway bike class (along with other tier 5 class teams) . I can either reject the offers and stay with my current team or accept one of the offers and join another team/class. If I perform badly then the team will not renew my contract and I will be forced to accept an offer from another team. Upgrades remain in place.

Money for upgrades should solely be gained from race winnings, and will be reset to zero if you join a different team.

This is obviously just my opinion. Thoughts?

Yeah. What you described as currently in game is not a career mode and just stopped me buying it.

It is still a fun game. There is plenty to do, plenty of cars and tracks. It is just a shame that the career mode(s) doesn't really meet my expectations. All the elements are there, but just a little tweaking is needed.

I do think the game is worth the money though, simply for content alone. The race customisation is pretty good too, you can change all the laps, tyre wear, etc.

I agree the career mode could be improved to get some progression. I'm working on a new rally game with improved career mode similar to what you have suggested.

That sounds awesome! Weirdly enough I have been playing Rally games recently and definitely think that your style of vehicle handling and design will create something a hundred times more fun than what is currently out there in a similar vein.

I look forward to hearing more about it. Any idea for when it might be released?

There is no release date yet, it's expected to come in 2025.
