The Pre-sequel. (And Battleborn, but nobody care about it)
What I hope for, is that the game does not get rushed, like what happened with cyberpunk.
going turbo bulldozing through unfinished projects and wasted potentials.
just like how b3 maya gets killed in turbo speed by ava and troy without giving maya enough time to reunite b2 hunters together, and also turbo skip maya's funeral by giving lilith, tannis and ava makeshift turbo funeral script on the spot giving tannis turbo migraine due to her being given the job to do spontaneous funeral speech while also being overworked as sanctuary's scientist-doctorsurgeon(why gearbox not recruit zed replacement?)-angelreplacement... tannis is basically barbie with too much jobs now. not to mention her still stressed with her ceiling chair ptsd traumas, autism, introvert aspergers syndromes and whatnot... and gearbox doesn't care...
anyway. turbomansion. thats the default speed of gearbox.
i mean they already try to do that with the vaultlander mini game in ntftb... but that idea is badly executed because the vaultlander figurines doesn't feature all the previous vault hunters, and vaultlander figurines are just static lifeless dolls which feels more of a cheap mockery to the actual vault hunters themselves.
borderlands players would want very actiony shootey rpg lootey gameplay, not collecting dumb pokemon statues to fight in boring turn based matches where the lifeless statues throw stuff at each other.
Honestly we should see what the end result is like.
It wouldn't be borderlands then.
it wouldn't need in depth stories since we can't trust gearbox to do consistent storytelling anymore. just have borderlands characters all be collectables in our arsenal and have them do borderlands stuff.
good comparisons for this type of gameplay would be:
1. home, planet & hunters
2. starlit eden
3. zenless zone zero
4. snowbreak containment zone
5. remnant 2
6. mass effect trilogy
7. metal slug awakening
8. counterside
and plenty more. there's already a lot of examples that could inspire gearbox to make borderlands spinoff game like i described above.
but anyway, thats just wishful thinking. i think gearbox would still be too tunnel visioned into developing b4 asap after piles upon piles of problems and mistakes from recent years.
