Ava should just vanish. She is the worst character ever invented. She is horrible and selfish! I really do hope she isn't in the game..... although I suspect she will be.
They need to greatly give her growth (either already received or during the events of BL4) where she is no longer a worthless shoe-horned character. (Her idea was sound but execution horrible).
Yes she was forcibly inserted. No amount of worship from Holo will change that. No amount of praying will get everyone to like the game, Ava, or Tyreen that they do. Sorry can't remove free will and personal opinion, so bye bye.
what do you expect, b3+b4 writers? you disrespectfully destroyed the bonds between b2 hunters and crimson raiders in b3 and make ava hoard most of the spotlights in b3 main story while also having her be one of the main cause maya dies in such an insulting death scene... of course lots of borderlands fans would give disrespectful feedbacks, because you disrespect our beloved classic characters.
you could have write b3 main story be a jolly coop adventure where all b1b2b3 hunters including athena, aurelia and improved fragtrap 2.0 claptrap. like what all borderlands fans expected after b2+b1.5+tfrb ending... instead you broke their bonds and give most of the spotlights to ava and just some handpicked returning characters you like.
even if b4 story tries and slightly managed to amend this big mistake, and maybe make b4 gameplay be better than all its predecessors... everyone wouldn't forget what you've done to b2 hunters in b3 main story.
Fans have understood her and still hate her. Understanding someone doesn't make you fall in love with them.
I am sorry for whomever deals with this person in real-life. They aggressively judge anyone who doesn't share their likes.
but realistically in practical perspective, b3 writers has doomed the overall writing quality of the series due to the forceful and inelegant way they write ava into b3 story. they have written themselves to a doomed corner, so they have no choice but to embrace the suck and force players to endure her presence in the story for a long time.
i guess if they follow similar pattern with b3 maya and lilith they'd make ava a martyr near the end of b4 story.
still, all the resources they've wasted to overfocus on ava in b3 could have been better used to write an ideal b3 main story where b1+b2+b1.5 athena aurelia timothy improved fragtrap+b3 vault hunters+crimson raiders main casts+tftb rhys' gang all+various allies have jolly coop adventures together against many baddies...
Yeah, that.
Steele is dead, in the game timeline, she might just barely have died long enough ago for her replacement to be a legal adult. Canonically, BL1 occurs 5 years prior to BL2, which occurred 7 years prior to BL3.
Angel is dead. If the game timeline remains consistent from what they did in BL3, that would have been 12 to 13 years ago.
Maya is dead. If the game timeline remains consistent from what they did in BL3, that would have been 5ish years ago.
Tyreen is dead. If the game timeline remains consistent from what they did in BL3, that would have been 5ish years ago.
Lilith is "unknown". But if they decide she's dead, then she'll have been dead for less than 5 years.
Amara is alive. But if they decide she's died in between games, then she'll have been dead for less than 5 years.
So ... by Jack's definition: We're out of Sirens. And neither Ava nor Tanis should have SIren powers because that's not how Jack said they work. (Nor should Troy for that matter). A maximum of 2 adult Sirens is possible, the rest should all be children.
Mind you, they'll probably just come out admit that Jack was an Unreliable Narrator, but even so, publicly acknowledging that would amuse me.
