Borderlands 4

Any word on what Engine BL4 is using?
So given how many UE5 games release very un-optimized even with top of the line hardware, my question is do we know what engine BL4 is using?

It looks very close to BL3 and wonderlands and those were on UE4 I believe. While BL3 had a rough launch and some performance issue, gearbox seemed to have gotten the engine/optimization down pretty well with wonderlands that ran as smooth a butter on release.

I personally hope the devs squeeze as much out of UE4 as possible so we can get a good looking game but also a more optimized game then more recent AAA titles. Take for example Dead Island 2 that looks absolutely amazing, it runs well, and its on UE4.

Ahh, well if that's true lets hope it fairs better then some recent ones like Renmant 2, STALKER 2, Black Myth,...etc. I hate the over reliance on Upsacaling tech and that seems to be needed to get any UE5 game to run decently.

I'm not sure if it's only applicable on RTX (with DLSS) cards, but usually the games that run on UE5 get a substantially higher boost in frame rates. At least in my experience, that seems to be the case. Plus, DLSS Q and B has improved significantly in terms of image quality and stability over the years. Yes, it would have been a lot better for us to fully experience the game in it's native resolution but upscaling techs nowadays have improved to the point of "why turn the upscaler off?".

Not only that, but pretty much 90% of games on UE, comes with a "great feature" called frame stuttering.

It's plagued Unreal Engine for years (got fairly widespread with UE 3.5, I think), and at this point, it's just a feature of the engine.
The engine can deliver some good looking things - but my God, I hate having to deal with the stuttering on pretty much every UE title..
