That trailer did not feel like Borderlands

Gearbox, why the fk do you drift away from what ACTUALLY made Borderlands good? It's all cyberpunky BS now. Bring back that Mad Max feeling. Bring back Diablo with guns ffs.

Trailer looked pretty bad, the song choice made it even worse. Anyway, I will wait for some gameplay to see if it's worth getting.

I really don't think they understand what we enjoyed about Borderlands and Borderlands 2 from the looks of it. I'm going to hold on to a bit of hope that it turns out better than it looks though.

I couldnt even get past half the game in the 3rd one. the chars and story was so bad. gameplay was good though.

The biggest issue with the trailer was thee is not enough gameplay, as soon as the action was about to start, bam it was over.

I did not think it was terrible, it was edited well and kind of flowed with the music. My biggest question is, was the big bad suppose to give off big Handsome Jack vibes? Because even his clothes kind of looked like something HJ would wear.

1st vid was the teaser. This one gives us theme/setting to an extent. There was mention the next one will be gameplay reveal.

Overall looks interesting so far. But waiting for the juicy bits, and actually hearing them, on how this will hit.

Maybe the aliens brought Jack back to life. Look, everyone hated the Calypso Twins, everyone loved to hate Handsome Jack. If they give people what they wanted, will the same people complain?

I liked the trailer, immensely. Not sure about the skinny black girl, she's kinda funny-lookin if you ask me, and maybe she'll be a female Urkel from Family Matters, but the rest of the characters look perfect. Although the big tank should have been Ellie, and I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't.

Ava? I think it's Ava. I also think Ava was inevitable. She didn't train to be a siren for nothing, you know. Don't worry, fans, she won't be an annoying 13 year old any more. You hate her, I get it. Let the writer redeem her (if it even is Ava), and in doing so, redeem themselves. If Darth friggin Vader can be redeemed, so can Ava.

And it's kinda funny, OP. Other people in other threads are complaining that it looks too much like Borderlands. They're also doing that in the recent announcement threads for Neon Abyss 2 and Undermine 2. I'm like "Yes. Good."

Maybe we want more Borderlands? I think it looks like a Borderlands game, myself, and I like that it does. Because I want more Borderlands.

Yes. Agreed with the song. Music was one thing with Borderlands they used to get right. But the music for the trailer is very poor.

Also the alien vs. psycho giant battle.

Curious about the "Break Free" announcement at the end, too. What do they mean by that? One of the devs said recently that this is the "most ambitious" entry in the series. "Break Free". No more zones and true open world? No more zone teleporting in between planets?

What do they have up their sleeves to justify that particular, in-your-face statement?

I'm all for more Handsome Jack, as much as he has been over used in past games.

Regarding the Ava point, how is that Ava that grown up when characters like Zane look the same?

Moxsy said. Not sure how accurate it is but she does not look like Ava at all imo.
