RIP superior game, aka Battleborn...

if Gearbox were smart they would have rebooted the Battleborn servers now that Overwatch is faltering. at the very least give us the coop mode for the campaign..
overwatch 2 promised more pve story focused content for their fans, then blizzard did a rugpull to that and become more greedy with the mtx... they're smashing their own system.

also there's apex legends... and warframe... and destiny...

battleborn was already doomed from the start, wasn't it?

in hindsight, i think the resources for developing battleborn could have been used by gbx to make an experimental live service borderlands spinoff side project where it only has minimalistic story and aim to appease parts of borderlands communities that want some live service borderlands game... which means gbx getting more profit from gamers who are tolerant with mtx heavy live service games, and use that profit to make b3 be the ideal b3 that could satisfy most of the fans instead of the one we all got where the writing turns the community upside down with many rifts and broken trusts.
lol?
Battleborn died because it was a horrible game and nobody wanted to play it.

This game will be equally bad though I have no doubt.
Battleborn + Push cart = Overwatch 2(w/ promised pve)

Overwatch is (and has always been) the moldering, zombified corpse of the Titan project.

I suppose, that Overwatch 2 was always meant to be a push more in the direction of Titan.

Pity really, Titan would have been fantastic.

Regardless, never really enjoyed Battleborn, too much of a hybrid-hybrid. Give me a PvE game please, yeah, it's okay if it has optional co-op. But really, I want to play OFF LINE, solo most of the time.

Consumer pockets to support Service Model games are not infinite.
yea in reality no one has the ability to summon infinite live service gamer customers from infinite multiverses dimensions.
I really liked Battleborn. The MOBA thing was crap but the co op was great.

I could cry just hearing this name.

Battleborn was hot garbage.
How can someone be so wrong? Borderlands as a series, took a great hit in development because the devs spent so much time on Battleborn, a game that was hot garbage.

Battleborn was actually pretty fun, it was just poorly timed.
A Battleborn-like game was kinda one of the possible directions people were expecting after BL2's big galaxy reveal. All the not-Borderlands characters didn't land as well as Overwatch's or even BL's own previous characters.

Fast forward to today where these Vault Hunters look more like Concord Season 2.

yeah I loved Battleborn most of the hero Shooters that released right now or PVP focused and I'm not a fan of PvP. to be honest I think it was more on Blizzard than gearbox with the release date thing. Blizzard has a long history of stomping competition for example releasing events or free weekends when their competition is about to release something.
but I'm not saying gearbox wasn't it fault they should have done more to differentiate themselves from overwatch. also by the end of battleborns life is when I started not liking the gearbox CEO.
