prepare to cry for more plotholes and character butchering for those two poor sirens i guess.
Whatever happens I can guarantee it'll be creatively bankrupt, like everything else coming out of Gearbox these days.

Gearbox has 1300 odd people working for them. And now they're part of 2K.

The Embracer Group wanted the movie rights, that was their whole reason for buying Gearbox in the first place (as far as I know).

2K on the other hand wants to keep making (financially) successful games, and wanted to own what's been one of their biggest cash cows. The movie may have been a debacle, but I don't think Gearbox the studio was involved with that. Pretty sure 2K has deep enough pockets to fund another game regardless.

Of course Randy does manage to sour relations with various former staff members, but there's still a lot of people left, so ... we'll see.
embracer group really wanting borderlands to be more focused into its story, yet seeing how embracer, gbx and 2k flopped hard on the story department since b3 is a painful irony that resulted in lose lose situation for everyone... including borderlands fans and most of the borderlands characters themselves.

i recall gaige in b1.5 holodome dlc conversation with axton and athena complains how lilith asked gaige and axton to go to planet epitaph or something to kill baroness aurelia due to her association with jack back in b1.5, but then lilith changed her mind asking them both recruit aurelia as ally instead due to the eridian watcher's warning to gather and train vault hunters to prepare for a great war (which b3 writers retconned like it was nothing, not to mention how all the characters involved in this context get messed up irreversibly so bad by b3 writing).

i see gaige's complain about lilith's indecisiveness up there as an indirect 4th wall breaking criticism on how gbx handled the series' story at that point and onwards. think of it as a protest from the characters themselves to the IP owners to care for their relevances and untapped potentials for the series. which had been messed up and hugely wasted since b3...

borderlands story is just sad at this point. like shade from b2 scarlett dlc being sad whimpering thirsty mad lone survivor of his almost dry oasis settlement while he props up the corpse taxidermized puppets of his fellow townies... making his own stories conversing with them about good old times when they're all still alive.

Maya is its own case.

But I think Lilith will return cause her possible 'death' was never witnessed.

Loved Genshin when it came out stopped playing after 6 months think its a bit to late to go bk to the game now ?
^genshin is not a competitive game, just like borderlands mainline games. explore its open world to your hearts' contents and choose your own difficulty and challenges. you can enjoy the game at your own pace whether as f2p/dolphin/whale player.

i played genshin since almost a year ago as a low tier dolphin player. only spent about 2 monthly welkin primogems deal which is totally around 13 USD$, and have gotten almost half of the total roster characters. although most of my 5 stars are at 0 constellation level but i'm satisfied with their performances in high level contents.

though sadly if you really want to get specific rare characters you still have to grind a lot of primogems and wait for the right time period of limited banner events for your preferred characters, so that you're ready to get those characters through the guaranteed pity gacha system. shenhe fans know the pain of waiting 1+ year until her limited banner event's return soon.

and oh man... natlan characters are bonkers... they're like native american-african-hawaii monster hunter pokemon masters tribals that use shark/drill machine/grapplehooks/skateshoes/flying cannon/flying motorcycle as if they're monopolizing the taxi services of teyvat... scooter and ellie's catch a rides would have no chance competing against mavuika's motorcycle...

also xinyan kinda looks like b2 gaige. they're both big fans of rock and roll metal music. at least genshin somehow manage to cure my longing for more b2 gaige contents through xinyan in some ways.

It depends on how much you consider Randy to be part of the studio.

I'll have a couple of AIs fight out the answer.

AI 1:
Randy Pitchford, the creator of the Borderlands video game franchise, was on set every day of the movie's filming. He was an executive producer on the movie and was part of the process of bringing the game to life on the big screen.
Explanation
Pitchford said he loved being on set and would do it again if given the chance.
He described it as a unique experience, being able to see the movie being made as it happened.
Pitchford has said that he's grateful for the opportunity and hopes to make more movies based on the Borderlands games.
Pitchford is also known for creating the Brothers in Arms video game franchise.
"Every day of shooting, I was on set, and I saw every single second of the film being captured as it was being shot, but this is the closest I think I will ever come to experiencing Borderlands as an audience, as opposed to the creator."

AI 2:
Randy Pitchford's Borderlands Involvement
Randy Pitchford, the president and CEO of Gearbox Entertainment, was heavily involved in the production of the Borderlands movie. According to reports, he was on the set every day for two years and was deeply involved in the selection of actors for the film. Despite the movie’s poor reception, Pitchford has maintained a positive attitude, expressing that he is “super flattered” that fans prefer the Borderlands video games over the movie. However, his response to criticism has also included blocking people on Twitter who have spoken negatively about the film, including some significant Borderlands fans and streamers.

This is probably why the VH for BL4 look like season characters for Concord.

Yeah the vh's look pretty lame hopefully cosmetics can hide some of it.

Every other first look at the VHs for BL2, BL3, and even Pre-Sequel have shown enough about the VHs that a cosmetic swap was a possibility. The main worry here I think people haven't fully voiced, is that the VHs don't seem to be doing much in that compared to the VHs in previous first looks.
