Rather get a finished game than a rushed one to beat another game release for sales.
Answer is, there is no answer because it is personal. It is not soon for you and that will not change, nor is anybody trying to change that for you. What has been pointed out is for myself and some others it is still scheduled soon.
If, and only if, it gets pushed back to 2026 would it have passed soon for me. As long as they launch it this year as announced, then it falls within soon for me. But if they fail to meet what they've officially announced so far, no biggie especially if it allows a better product when it comes out.
Unlike some, I am not going nuts that the game isn't out already or that I don't know the exact day yet. Hopefully others excited for the game can learn to be patient and perhaps play some other things in the meantime.
There is no specific set length for soon (minutes, hours, days, etc.) it is personal and relative. That is fact so nothing you say can change it.
Not soon for you. Soon for me. Both are valid. You claiming not soon for anybody is not valid as you cannot dictate what is or is not soon for anybody but yourself. You're not that important.
Yep, so would most people. Given the context of a big development studio pushing out a major triple-A game, a year-ish, is quite soon.
Until they put out preorders I wouldn't get yourself so worked up over exactly when it's supposed to be playable.
Launching within a year (give or take a few days or weeks) and I view that as soon when it comes to big franchise games. So as long as it launches within 2025 as they've announced, then it is still soon for me. They fail to meet that, then it no longer was soon for me. Either way, I'm not going to fall apart over it like some kids (or those who act like one).
Though there is no industry standard for "soon", I wouldn't expect any game to be out within weeks or a month of announcement. Got to let people be ready to budget it in after all (for themselves or as a gift).
With all the OP's bluster of trying to dictate what soon must mean to everbody and throwing around "falling for bait" when we point out our own perspective of soon, going back to their original post on this topic, they are definitely worked up over not knowing the exact date and that the game is not out soon enough for them. They are trying to make their own personal problem apply to everyone else.
I concur, at this point my suggestion is relax and find something fun to do in the meantime. Perhaps they should set a date in 2027 they will play the game to give themselves peace of mind of having a specific target, even if the company meets their officially announced year of 2025.
Hopefully this game doesn't cause consoles to shut off like bl3 does at times, never had bl2 do that, but bl3 has many times for well everyone at some point, hopefully this game looks and plays smoothly.
I hope they tune down the explosion effects in 3 it was nutty to the point you could barely see whats going on at times lol
To give a response related to the opening post, the pre-order for BL4 I do not expect before April. It would make sense to have the revenue occur during the same fiscal as launch.
