I LOVED Borderlands 1 and 2.
And i really hoped that Borderlands 3 would be a total Banger. I mean, why would i want something that brought me Joy, to be bad?
Thing is, sadly, Borderlands 3 disappointed me very much. And Borderlands 4, atleast so far, looks like it will be an even bigger disappointment. :(
Its not like i hope for it or something, its just what it looks like to me.
I mean, just compare the first Trailers of Borderlands 1 and 2. And now look at 4.
4 isnt even competition for 1 and 2 at that Point.
The Characters, the Presentation, THE MUSIC!
Freaking Hell, Borderlands 1 showed me an entire new Genre of Music, how awesome is that.

Short Edit, sorry, the Videos dont want to show up as Videos. These are basicly the Trailers of Borderlands 1 and 2.
Anyway.
Also thanks to the Mod who didnt delete my Thread, but moved it.
expected that Gearbox/Steam would remove Negative Posts, instead they seem to know about it and well.. roll with it, OR.. maybe.. even listen to the Feedback and maybe change some things. Who knows.
The comments from Sam Winkler about less toilet humor, which was starting to lose focus on the characters' strengths for loljoke, is appreciated but I think may be overcorrecting a bit too much. Maybe not, we'll have to see where they've gone with BL4 - and they are paying attention to feedback. The hard hit in the reception to the movie while promoting BL4 definitely didn't go as planned.
I dunno. Those cast-iron pans certainly are symbolic.
Either Gearbox are cooking up something good or...
Exactly. infest a studio with woke unqualified people and ruin the next game.
Borderlands 2 got the story, characters and the dialogues very well, borderland 3 got the graphics and movement, gameplay mechanics. they can combine these to make the perfect game but they will make sure we don't have any fun or see any badass, cool characters but they will make sure we get the "message" and fill the game with more gay characters, "people of colour" type and "pronouns" smh...
so that's why they cancelled maya-krieg's popular meat bicycle for 2 ship (turning krieg into sad hermit psycho bum, and maya as a badly designed plot twist ashtastic sacrifice for ava...), shove axton and salvador into a duo of job hopping bums wasting their rambo vault hunters skill that the crimson raiders desperately need in b3, and nerfed+censored the heck out of gaige's personality design while also turning her into slave to fangirl and pamper over hammerlock who doesn't even care much about her and almost no npcs care about gaige's huge issue of holloway mafias relentlessly bounty hunting her.
but thats not a problem for those who still accept b3's story (ugh), because of course the same writers in b4 would give vip treatments to their treasured b3+b4 fanfic OCs and don't care much anymore about pre b3 classic og characters that made b2 the peak of the series.
if they want dei, woke, sjw type ♥♥♥♥. they can add all the lgbt community as bandits :D game would be much fun that way.
Money, brother. Blackrock promotes these type of garbage, if you get enough esg scores in a game or movie you might get hot load of cash from blackrock.
Borderlands 3 DLC played with fire, but I doubt Gearbox will needlessly endanger a product again like that, when as far back as 1998's Fallout 2 games have managed things like same-sex marriages that even fundamentalists could still buy and play the game without much problem. It's entirely possible when you do it right.
Corporations did what corporations do. Many others thought the crass pandering would make them money, but in many cases they took it way too far for many of us LGBT because they made pushback become blowback.
Off of social media and back in the real world, the amount of LGBT who use anything but the two sex identifiers and go into that pronouns parade are very, very few. We've actually had clashes lately that the straight folks might not be aware of, because the pronoun parade are wanting to attack us LGBT as well for their literal Tiktok drama. There was a famous example of that Tiktoker who promotes weird things like "Cakegendered" and such, who was kicked out of an LGBT bar for throwing a public fit over being misgendered. What was the crime? Called "ladies" while dressing as such, but were "They/Them" and started going into drama over it.
Nope, the bar was done with that, and kicked them out.
That is the kind of response pushing bad depictions creates.
Yeah, many of us LGBT were done with that nonsense drama quick, so outside of a few areas it's mostly just on social media and some people pushing it into entertainment thinking the more they put it into product the more it will foster acceptance or even tolerance. The funny part is when we have a bunch of straight people telling us we need to accept it because they actually don't know any better nuance, and so they always assume we're some white fundamentalist chud when we try to get representations to pump the brakes to avoid turning Pride into Shame.
Making people hate the rainbow wasn't the point of decades of striving for tolerance.
This is why Wilberforce Clayborne Humpries was such an attraction as the most popular character from Are You Being Served? that spinoffs were created all around him decades ago, while Taash of Dragon Age: Veilguard is reviled that the series and BioWas/Were are both likely RIP as a result. EA is not that forgiving.
I've played every game in the series, and the tone has been the same all the way through.
I think the difference is the amount of characters you are exposed to through each game. BL3 definitely had the biggest showcase of prominent side characters out of all the games, and some of the personalities end up being copy/pasted.
It's just nostalgia speaking for a lot of people because they grow up and don't see it.
