Meta's shift over time but there will always be a select few decks that perform better than others.
I beat 0 ranks and higher all the time through control.
Just make a deck that is unexpected and that targets meta decks specifically and counters them.
That is the point of Gwentfinity, it will allow us to move the meta around using polls and tweak cards based on the community.
Only a minority are at the top, the majority at bottom. So when polls come out, the majority can make it so minority isnt the top players anymore.
I have been playing since Oct. 2018 btw and have only and will only play Monster :-)
have to agree.
just started and my starter decks are pitted in automatch against over-engineered trash constantly. cards that are played are unrecognizeable from any of the starter decks and all OP af. this game is boring trash.
and you have to win matches to unlock cards most of the time and you can't win until the automatches decides to NOT match you with some loser who decided to pay to win.
so the only resort is buy them, so essentially pay to win. so its a boring grind or pay to win. someone delete this stupid CCG game from steam please. is CD projekt behind this game design? when did they get so greedy as to make trash like this? Thought they were better than this.
false, the only thing you get from winning is slightly more player xp and an extra journey point. you get the resources through GG's which you get wether you win or lose depending on the opponent.
the drawback to winning all the time is you will rise in ranks faster facing stronger decks.
i'm already facing the strongest OP cards there are (relative to anything i'm familiar with from the starter decks), so might as well give the players access to all cards to level the play field.
also, i'm not making any of the card progress off the 'reward book' without winning. all the initial ones require you to win. am i getting a trickle of resources... maybe. have not checked out the 'card construction' aspect yet. but i'd bet its MASSIVE resources required just to make one card. ergo. pay to win.... or grind off an unfair bully playfield.
welcome to the world of CCG's, is this your first? by every mentric you get resources faster in GWENT than every other CCG, just because it doesn't throw cards at you as a participation award doesn't make it P2W.
learn the game, craft some cards and get better. or cry P2W and quit like others have. if you choose the later, CCG's ain't for you.
the problem is CCGs like this which are "free" are boring, because you hit the pay wall immediately in auto-matching. so you stop playing. well done to the designers to make sure the player base doesn't develop.... UNLESS you pay.... OR are a grind addict AND a masochist (who likes being dominated) or a sadist (who get off on bullying those without cards).
another forum mentioned they think this game will be opened to all at the end of 2023 (gwenfinity or something). i'll pop back in then when they level the playing field, and just make this game a creative deck building game, instead of a bullied-grind unless you pay.
More “Wah! P2W!” Threads in future.
On the off chance for a DEV: Fix spam units, provide better Clear cards (3/4 of all cards can't even be canceled by 1 clear card, don't @ I don't care) and provide easier way to get a base set of recommended cards for new people, so they don't quit the game after 5 games of being farmed, or vs bots.
i've been playing for about 1.5years. i have every card in the game. even a lot of the premium versions. i still lose games.
if you are just starting out, you shouldn't be expecting to win at all. not the best selling point i know, but you are woefully unprepared for any decks on ladder. grind out some resources a craft some decks, or buy kegs.
you can't buy specific cards and $80 won't get you very far. as there are no more card drops i blew all my ore on kegs, i had enough for 890. i still have 600 unopened. any duplicates i mill and craft other cards.
this isn't like a lot of other CCG's, HS is worse by every metric. you get resources much faster in GWENT just by grinding out the reward book.
don't go into it thinking you will win every game, and 5 loss on the bounce ain't that bad. come back when you hit 20.
